I was bidding until the end for Śmigiel. Probably made Dream Team 2 million or so. But the reason was not that he's a TE, it was his TE/WR combination (and 18 CON ). I love those offensive monsters that I can exploit every possible weakness in the Defense with.

How can you exploit a weakness that way? Please enlighten my noob mind.

Similar thing for me with two top end TE's, so I put one on the market.

The prices get high for the well trained ones because, as Abcat pointed out, monster TE's need balanced training in 9 different categories. That's hard to do without either high starting skills, high teamwork, or both.

I usually unload my 30 going on 31yo players but I'm keeping my 30yo TE for next season. His 24yo replacement is still 2 seasons away from being finished.

I do think though that TE's, while still strong in this engine, have seen the gap between them and WR's shrink some since BMI was implemented. Now the best any receiver can do is 20/15 instead of 20/20. Now that all my WR's and TE's have the same physical skills it is a matter of finding and exploitin the right matchup on defense.

You can attack OLB Left and Right and CBs Left and Right if you put your best players there. If a team has a great CB/L and a great OLB/L, but weak CB/R and OLB/R, you can darkwing your WR/L and TE/L to exploit that weakness and not face the great Defenders.

If you have a TE + WR, you can game plan around the weakness of your opponent however you choose to do.

This is misleading and false, the developers indicated each position uses 3-5 skill categories, so 9 would only be used if you were unsure of the 3 to 5 skills. Just pick out 5 skills for each position and you will be fine, even while laughing
