Eyes down and look in for a full house. Sorry for the teams that dropped but a nice welcome to the 3 newly promoted sides. Hopefully I can pick up a win or two and not have to survive on the last game again.Last edited on 2017-06-27 at 11:41

10 teams, 18 games, and one winner at the end of it. Looking through the list it is implausible to think three of these will be relegated:

Weasels - Well this is me, so I can't say too much about myself. We won last season, albeit with an element of fortune, but I couldn't write ourselves off for either another title or relegation.

Salamanca Road Trains - Winners in Season 21, and runners-up in the following two seasons. There's nothing that hurts more than coming second twice in a row, and this team has some very skilled (and expensive) veteran players who will be a threat to anyone on their day.

Newbury Nighthawks - 3rd last season in a very respectable debut. They accidentally sold their stadium at the end of last year, so it remains to be seen if they can afford to keep their highly talented team together for another challenge. If they can they will be very dangerous.

Dragones de Cuera - Last season's cup winners have come 3rd, 4th and 4th again in their three seasons in the top flight. Such consistency means they will have to considered likely to make a strong challenge.

Brixton Massive - One of the younger teams in the division, Brixton have come from nowhere to be a major force of British football. Finishing 5th last season, I think we are yet to see the best of this up-and-coming squad of players.

Seattle Seahawks - Season 22 champions and cup winners, Miss Dimple's all-British team was not quite able to match those heights in season 23, but still put up a very strong AFLC performance. Cannot be written off.

MelittlemenonthepitchHitchin - Champions in season 20, and cup winners in season 16, they pulled off a miraculous escape to remain in the Top Division at the end of last season. Their team is much more formidable than this finish suggests, and they usually put in a very strong challenge. Must be considered.

Fionia Swans - Champions of Division II.1, this young team have put Denmark back on the map after the glory days of Vesterboro and Drusselstein. Can they go one step further and claim the title?

Elisa Vikings Finland - Promoted as champions of Division II.2 after a close and exciting campaign, this all-Finnish team cannot be underestimated. Manager Whitenekke has turned the fortunes of the Finnish national team around in recent seasons, and has built a superb squad of players for the job.

Gobabeb Spotted Hyenas - Promoted as champions of Division II.3 having won the tough Division III.8 in the season before. Gobabeb were rated as the top team in the region last season, and have the team to match it. On those credentials, they have got to be one of the favourites to take the title.

Interesting preview of the season Abcat. First blood against me, what a lucky fellow I am. I just hope to start better than last season.

Great preview - looks like the division will be as tight as ever.

Personally looking at my team and wages I'll be happy just to stay up, in terms of the title early favourites for me are Weasels, Road Trains & Hyenas - although frankly who knows!

Looking forward to facing off against Vikings Week 1, that's a heavyweight squad they have there

Nice work, AbCat - but no, we can't go that step further and 'claim the title'.
For me the season will be a succes if we stay out of relegation.

First hurddle will be Salamanca.
19-20 skilled players all over the place. Oouch.

That's good stuff, what a season this should be. As stated, its hard to think that 3 of the teams will drop. Hoping I'm not one of them.

Don't be scared. I'm not sure to start this season, I'm thinking a lot this week and probably last season were my last season ever.
Not sure yet

Great preview, thanks. Before everyone declares me a co-favourite, you should all notice that my starting QB decided to retire at age 30. That gives me exactly 0% chance to compete at the top. I am not willing to jump into the free agent pool to replace him, so my second stringer needs to help out. I am in for a looooong season of learning form the best.
