Having gone 20 years without a team, LA will now have two in the space of two years.

Thought one team was more than enough.

LA fans are fickle, so this move won't last 20 years before they move again. Same goes for the Rams. LA has had teams, and they have always left. San Antonio could use a team, but Jerry Jones and Bud in Houston aren't about to let that happen.

My feeling is that the NFL is making a strong push to create voids in as many places as possible to drive another expansion when London comes into play in a 5 years time. They are on record saying London will have at least 1 franchize in some time, but there is no reason to expand by 1 team. So the only logical conclusion is - assuming they did not lie about that, and plan accordingly - is to expand by 4-8 teams, and teams striving for new teams are absolutely necessary in order doing so.
