McDaniels could be an interesting hire, but doubt he's interested in this one. He will hold out for a better gig.

I get the feeling McDaniels is waiting for Belichick to retire or die.

I have that feeling also. And I think Pat's management have that feeling also.

Bill is seeing ghosts. I doubt he retires before he dies

Mike Shanahan? Um no, maybe Kyle Shanahan, I think he would have a decent shot and certainly would change the offensive woes. He is third on my list of potentials.

From what I know Mike Shanahan wants to coach, was interviewed in the past by some teams. He is a former superbowl winner, good offensive coach and made playoffs with Washington so he has a solid resume. Kyle is a good name as well but never discount Mike "coffee breath" Shanahan.

I know who he is, he was an OC for the Gators back in the early 80's for a few years, just think Kyle is the Shanahan that has a shot and maybe he'll consult Dad sometimes over Thanksgiving dinner. I think Mike's name was tossed around for the 49ers most recently, but let's face it, the Rams will be going for a younger face.........at least that's my thinking. I'll stick with my top 3 as most likely

I can dispute a lot of things about your football knowledge but I was sure you knew who is mike Shanahan. I tossed some general facts only to support my opinion that he could be a viable coaching candidate.

Kyle Shanahan or Jon Gruden (ESPN is having money issues, they've let go of a lot of employees and Gruden has the highest salary at the network)

There's no way I'm hiring Gruden. He's been out of the NFL for almost a decade, and he wasn't that great at developing quarterbacks before he left.

Yeah, but that idiot Les Snead doesn't know that.

Of the Pats' co-ordinators I think Matt Patricia is more likely to go to LA Rams than Josh would be, for the simple reason that I think Josh would want to try and take Jimmy G with him and the Rams invested too much in Goff to trade for another QB after just one year.

On one hand a strong defensive team would be a good HC job fora DC. On the other hand the Patriots defense is mostly 2 gaping in spite of running mostly 4-3. So i would not expect immediate results from the defense. Risk is high that he would fail there the same way Rex Ryan failed in Buffalo with the defense.
