Nobody seems to notice but I did make an apology to the Czechs yet they seem much more forgiving than the people from my country even though their team had nothing o do with the match.

I know this is not my place but:
I don' think the main issue here is if you apologized or not, I think it's more like "if it happened once it might happen again"

And my talking point for wanting to coach this team was I want another chance to win the finals because I've shown I can get there

Yes, but your talking point also exposed that you can bot the line up once you do get there due to other scheduling conflicts like hockey and/or sleep requirements.

Now for anyone getting annoyed and thinking this is more mud slinging, I just want to take a moment to let you know this is all in a light hearted tone and I really think flames did a wonderful job with the Czech squad*

I wasn't referring to your straw poll which was obviously a joke and I'm certainly not one of the parties involved so I don't take things personally. My concern would be the repeated mentions of Flames bot lineup in the finals. This isn't just directed at you either as many people brought that up. OK, we get it, Flames messed up and ended with a bot lineup in the finals. Bringing it up repeatedly to me was a bit over the top. In my mind, his accomplishment of bringing a team that had never received any trophy before to the finals was a great accomplishment. For me, it is just as impressive as your record managing your squad.

Hopefully, obviously, using the term mud slinging was also meant to be a bit of a joke playing on what we hear about repeatedly in political elections.

The good news is we have several very good USA coaches interested in and wanting to represent us. I'm glad to see this. I'm not sure how I feel about the campaigning. I found it entertaining at first but now I'm not sure how I feel about it. Hopefully the mud slinging is handled in fun and no hard feelings are created. Personally, a lot of what I looked at with my voting was to first determine which of the candidates I felt would give us the best shot to win. I also looked at if they had the opportunity before, and if so, how long ago. When I looked at this I had my choice down to 2 managers. In the end I gave Flames extra credit for last year when he wasn't elected he took the initiative to take on another country and make an impressive run.

I really don't expect Flames to get elected. I think his approach in all his posts rub too many people the wrong way and I think that hurts him. My view is it's a maturity level. I didn't hold it against him and gave him my vote but I suspect that won't happen enough to get him the nod.

Good luck to whomever gets the job!

Mud slinging seems a bit heavy. I kind of thought it was all good natured ribbing and joking about the entire process. If anyone thought I actually took a "straw poll" at my work place, then perhaps you are taking this entire game too seriously. Now that we have this cleared up, I will give the next 10 people that vote for me, their pick of players from my roster. You will have to bid on them and run the risk of another manager outbidding you for them, but just tell me who you want from my roster and I will put them up for sale immediately.*

*Notice, I will not seriously give away players of mine for votes. This is just a joke and not to be viewed as serious, legally binding or illegally binding

I had never thought of that before. So you think one WC run to the finals, where he BOTTED the line up is comparable to 1 TD title (8 straight top 3 TD finishes), 4 RC trophies in the last 6 seasons and 1 Iron Bowl? Wow, not trying to brag on any hardware I've been fortunate enough to win, but maybe I should just sit back and wait for his induction into the HoF.

You had me inspired with your speeches supporting flames candidacy, but now I think you have gone off the path just a bit. Flames did a very good job with the Czech team, there is no doubt, but he did bot the finals and that will probably always come up in GI discussions about the WC. It's that big of a deal. If there were a team that botted the IB final or any RC final, it would probably come up over and over again. Sorry if that upsets you or flames or anyone else for that matter. We all have and are entitled to our opinion

In a WC competition I am going to give a lot of credit to the person who exhibited a lot of WC success. Your titles are through a different process where you are building a team through managing finances and training players. It doesn't make your accomplishments insignificant, it's just that they are not an apples to apples comparison of assembling a team of all stars from a country and managing them through a tournament. Flames success last season was in the exact tournament we are voting on for the manager. While I believe you would make a successful manager, Flames in this case has last season to show he can manage successfully in the WC. If Flames were to get the nomination (which I doubt), I would like to see you follow his same path of grabbing another country and lead them to over achieve.

I have no desire to lead another country. I'm from the USA and so I would only be interested in running our team. I had once stated that I would run Chile if they had a WC team, because the favorite player on my team was from Chile. I even started a thread to encourage more teams from Chile to join the game so that possibility was there, but that didn't happen. I would agree it's comparing apples to oranges, but you made the comparison, so I had to respectfully disagree with you on that one. I didn't vote for myself, so we'll see who wins. I think everyone on the list would do just fine

also on botting the finals everyone seems to be over it, except gatr. when youre still talking about something even after projectraisin was done with it i think theres an obvious stretch. also if anyone saw the roster that the czechs had youd be baffled. there arent many czech teams, even fewer with properly trained players, and even less players that could compete on a wc level. i was not carried by my players, not at all. if that was the case the czechs wouldve had loads of wc success before me, but they didnt, because outside of a handful of core players they arent that good of a team. 12-2 isnt easy to replicate, with any team, let alone a wc ghost like czech republic.

Well, so far, we have only met once and I appreciate your schooling efforts, but you might want to just leave it at "you'll give me your best shot". The only educating that was going on in the last RC final was that your team still needs some work

You botted the finals, that has nothing to do with how great of a guy you are, how much better of a manager you are than all others before you or the lack of players that are available to the Czech managers past and present. When you stop it with the nonsense of how you are the self proclaimed best manager ever, then I will stop mentioning your bot efforts. Initially, it was just to be funny, but now it just seems to be fuel to surge your self promotional efforts...........which makes it that much more hilarious. Then you take a timeout to tell me how you will beat me basically anytime/anywhere with any group of misfits you happen to have at the time. Did you even look at the RC final match? At this point, I hope you do get the gig and wonder what your excuse will be if you don't win it all
