Seems like right now the game star ratings for various positions vary quite a bit by position. What's a good and a GLB best rating for the various positions? Here's the list I've compiled so far, but feel free to correct or add to my list:

Offense (good / GLB best)
QB 2.0/2.5?
HB 2.0/2.5
FB 2.0/2.0
WR 2.0/2.5
TE 2.5/3.0?
OL 3.5/4.0 (does rating change by position in the O-Line?)

Defense
DE (DL) 3.0/3.5?
DT/NT (DL) 3.0/3.5?
LB 2.0/2.0 (does rating change between middle and outside?)
CB 2.0/2.5
SS 2.0/2.0?
FS 2.0/2.5

Special Teams
K 3.0/3.5
P 3.0/3.5
KR 1.5/2.0?
G 2.0/2.0?
CB 3.0/3.0 (seems like its easier to get ST CB stars than Def CB stars)

I've gotten 3.5 stars at the DT/NT position, my OL have gotten 4 stars and my kicker is rated 3 at both positions in game rating.

I seems like HBs, LBs and CBs (on defense) have a tougher time getting stars. I don't think I've seen over 2 games stars for any of them.

My guess is due to the fact that they need more stats to equal their rating. OL, DL, Kicker need 3 maybe 4 stats, HB, QB, LB, etc etc need 5+

can anyone explain those star rating you see in the stat section after a game
the end is almost always either, the same or less than the start Star

those are the ratings that are based upon "performance" as opposed to the number of games played like positional ratings listed on the player page. the reason they are usually lower is stamina effects over a given game. A good explanation can be found in game engine breakthroughs in the rookie thread.

I believe it is the Fitness skills as a whole.
