Schulz is both a 5-star S and CB in case that got overlooked. But yeah, no Hayne.

Also training DL Simpson as a TE. Currently only 3.5-star, but looking forward to finding out the kind of numbers that beast can stack up on O.

Nah, not overlooked. He'll be on the squad next cycle for sure. It's just that his physicals, especially strength, are so low that the 2 31yo's stay for this WC.

I don't really keep track of players anymore, but there is a 4.5* SF called Amon Seaby that I had noted down. 19/15 physicals, but unfortunately he appears to have been hit with a severe case of unambitious club owner... still has a sub $30k wage at age 25 Had 16 stamina at the time, balanced build, high intel (if you buy into that), but unfortunately had 1 consistency to go with his stunted progress. Maybe he'll get his shit together a bit like Moles and Burrows and become a late bloomer (e.g. for the longest time Moles was just 15 skills without ever going higher and only remained as depth on the team because our LBs used to be terrible).

There's also a variety of other SFs, but almost all of them have pretty sub par physicals and a lot of them have unbalanced builds. I think it's basically summed up by former NT member Michael Betts (who luckily had DL BPOS and was used as an DT/NT) and his 20 tackling, 20 strength, low speed, unbalanced 5* build.

EDIT: Elijah Walsh isn't THAT bad I think we can get away with it with his strength (like it's borderline). Alas, not really a long term solution either at 30 now.

UK, Croatia and Norway - a little different from last season. Looking forward to the challenge - Rocky up first!

Norway used to have some pretty awesome players (including a really elite WR), but a lot of them have either seemingly gone or gotten a bit old (my two former players still on the team are 30+, and one of them had at least a season and a bit of decline before hitting a bot team).

Don't know much about Croatia, but they look a bit like Ukraine in that they have a pretty good QB based out of an Aussie club and not heaps else that jumps out. I don't think Hedda will run the ball all day though.

And the UK... well, we seem to bump into them a lot, don't we? There are still NTs which I swear we've never even played (or at least not in my memory), and yet here we are They appear to have kept my old WR on the roster, so that's one formerly starting WR either no longer in the starting lineup or declining as being played (31 y.o.)

Agreed we got a good group.

Do I need to up Burgoyne's blocking skill?

Well it wouldn't hurt. But tbh, by my ratings he's the best OL on the squad as is anyway - him and Hooper will be starting OTs so having a pair with blk @ 19 would be nice!

His agility just went up today. Will switch to blocking.

So close and yet so far. A little more luck and the result could have been ours. Lead early in the 4th but just fell away at that point. Their D was just a little better holding us to those 2 FGs.

Anyway, even though it's a loss I feel better about this than out losses to the US and Hungary - I'm pretty sure this team is better.
