Good luck to all and welcome to the newly promoted. Should be an interesting season. Will the Jinx and Wildcats book places in next season's AFLC again? Will anyone fully break into the top 4 making it a top 5, 6 or 7?

Here's to a season that will usher in a changing of the guard!

Jinx roster changes

A new season heralds roster turnover, with the team saying farewell to former first teamers Jacob Barratt (UK NT WR starter), Garrick Johnson (Aus NT OL starter), Sebastian Trahan (former US SF list member), and Mac Coombs (superstar 5* TE). Each player with the exception of Trahan have chosen to play on elsewhere and we wish them (and Trahan in retirement) luck for their future endeavours. We also say goodbye to former backup RB/KR Jose Manuel Ballesteros, whose transfer is still being highly questioned by Jinx fans, given his high physicals and consistency would have made a position switch to OL a great fit.

Moving forward, the team has chosen to fill in the available starting positions almost entirely from within with players who have spent some time at the club. Long time club man and Slovenian international Nejc Colnarič put his hand up for both the TE and potential WR spot, academy product Nick Chatres slots in at WR, and Brazilian Gleidson Welasco takes over the safety mantle. The only new face to join the lineup is France International Jean-Francoise Clarisse who slots in seamlessly into the OL. Besides the experienced French superstar, all of them still have tremendous upside without a big loss of immediate quality and we look forward to seeing what they can do.

Moving even further ahead, we'd like to welcome to the club Lamont Stocker, Ross Fitzgerald, Armin Haacke, and Remon van der Laan, alongside recent academy products Geoff Ackland and Robbie Mackie. The Jinx hope their extremely high talent potential and the other 18 or so talented youths mean a long and prosperous future at the club

Roster changes -

Gains: Nil

Losses: RB Mirko Sjar (being replaced by an in house candidate), DT Mal Clarke (being replaced by an in house candidate)

Searching for a new gunner (don't want to pay 44k a week for the guy I have now) and a new offensive lineman (my right guard is weak).

OUT-
K Eddie Harley (paycheck)
SF/ILB Marcel Dill (age)
OT Antal Virág (paycheck - actually could afford him, but other options allowed savings)
RB Nathan Jones (age)
DE Gilbert Shaw (age/talent - lasted 297 weeks and last first game player to depart)

IN-
K Karl MacDonald
SF/CB Callum Kiel (I'm sure he'll do fine haha)
C Ivan Colombo/John Staker
RB/WR Alastair Ellard (Probably won't do much this year)
DT Jeffrey Wohlwend (I now have the strongest and fastest D-Line since starting G-I, and that includes a 20/19 player departing)

Brought in some overpriced Australian talent and some cheap imports recently. I probably have 6-7 too many imports than I'd like. But they are insurance for other youth prospects failing to achieve.

It will be the final season for Kai Harbar. The long serving Bucs/Wilcats/AUS NT defensive stallwart. Can we (the Wildcats) give him the final season he deserves?

As for the whole defensive unit. 1x 31yo, 2x 30yo, 3x 29yo, 1x 26yo make up the back 7. Not many seasons left in this current long serving unit. They and Kai have left a lasting impact on the Oceania region.

So, Pigs come home like a train vs the Barbarians for a crushing win after the game being tight at half time - be interesting to see how they go vs the trons next week.

Cats and Jinx with predictable wins, kaze bot on offense like they did in game 1 in S17 with basically same result!

And the 'victs win big over the trons after being extremely lucky to beat them twice in a week not long back.

Plot thickening.

.....amd no loss there by the looks of it so far!

The bit of extra training and 5*BPOS seems to be making up for the drop in physicals.

Watching my offense is like watching paint dry. At least my defence was decent. The game was 14-0 at halftime, I the D had an intercept at one point and gave the O plenty of chances to get me back into the game but they couldn't capitalise.

I can't really explain what happened in the Belconnen-Pigs game, though Trons have nothing to fear. Still, I hope today's result means max attendance for my first home game.
