yes an offensive player can play a defensive position however one position will obviously incur a positional penalty and it is unknown which position gets the experience for positional rating.

Well, if it's just for a couple games and you have no other options that you feel comfortable with, then yes you play someone at G and LB.

Just also keep in mind that it will affect his stamina more than a game at one position would.

Penalized when playing Offence and Defence in the same match, yes. The outcome is however, unknown.

If your player is playing either Offence or Defence, but you have not picked him to play on special teams, I believe there is no penalty as well as either Offence or Defence.

I would assume that there is only a penalty when you play the player on Special Teams at Gunner, Kick Returner, Cornerback or Kicker/Punter.
