Hello,

I'd like to know if there are playoffs at the end of the season ? The part "prize and end of the season" in the FAQ does not mention it...

Thanks

No playoffs withing the league. The top team gets promoted and the bottom three get relegated (unless you're in the the lowest division in which case they can't go down any further).

Well, it's a real challenge if you have to win the league to get promoted

Yeah but that's kind of a tricky system ^^

It's just a different way of doing things. At the risk of making this political/race related...

European competitions tend towards winners based on being the best over the whole season.
American competitions tend towards big finale/playoff games where a loss is instant knockout.

GI actually has both. The regular season is the Euro style best record over 18 games. The cup is a complete knock-out style system where the winner is the one who goes totally undefeated.

Being french I completely know the european system competition and I kind of like it. The best of the whole season deserves the most to get promoted. Meanwhile, the fact that only the first gets promoted is not enough I think, at least the second and maybe the third should have chances to get promoted too by playing a "play-off" game against a team of the superior league. I know I can't do anything about it, I was just surprised ^^

Horgar suggested this, and I'm not really sure what the admins said but it was pretty popular me thinks. The admins never said anything...

i am semi-anti second and definately anti third getting a shot at promoting. if two teams promote then only two teams stay in the same league every season. It's not even possible for three teams to promote.
