Will 2 teamwork and 2 consistency be a turn off for this guy?

2 TW only means he'll be a late bloomer with a short career (unless his skills were high @16yo)

I guess the 2 CON depends on the NT coach's philosophy - if there was any other viable option at his position I doubt he'd get a run. Imo, low CON players need a huge upside!

Just had a 4.5 talent guy hit 18 speed uncapped. His strength is 16 capped. So potentially a 19/16 or better player physical wise.

Ditto, but I don't know if he's capped or not. But 18/16 for a 4.5* Tal will make a good WR anyway imo. I'll update again in 4 weeks and hopefully 8 as well with even better news!

So I recently picked up a 19/17 5* talent Aussie WR with 20 consistency for dead cheap.

Only problem is... he's 26. Catching at 6, tackling at 6, agility at 4. I'm not really expecting much as he's super old for his development (where was he earlier? ), but can someone do the math for me to see where he'd end up with max coaches/facilities in the next 3ish seasons. Could be a one season and done monster for the NT or hit the bot team jackpot when I cut him. Don't care about finances.

Quick-and-dirty math: 1 season is ~10 points of skills. 3 seasons=30 points of skills. Not NT-level, and if you're going to go to all the trouble of developing a guy to that salary range it should probably be a guy who will stick around and help your team out for years.

Also, if you need to up his stamina in tandem with his catching, agility, and tacticals, that's only a gain of ~6 points per skill. Not a starter, or a good backup on an established team for that matter, even in his prime. That's probably why he was so dead cheap. Sorry.

I don't care who you are, you will never get 10 pts added to catching in one season, that is ludicrous. Even at 19-20 teamwork, you will max out at 7 points per season. This player is 26, meaning next season he will be 27 and that is the last season of 100% training points. When he is 28, he can expect 75% of those 7 points or 5.25 pts. He could be at 18 catching by the time he was turning 29...........that is the best you can hope for

Yes I liked the physical build of the player. But he will never have the skills to be anything better that WR3 on my team. Or any D1 team.

The most you can gain in a season training 1 focused attacking skill is 741 points "if" you have teamwork 20. 19 weeks by 39 points.

So consider he only has 22 weeks of full points training left. Complete waste of money for a D1 team in my opinion. By the time he turns 28, he'll have 10-11 catching and agility, nil positioning and stamina. Another 3 seasons to get those up to the same level, so by the time he hits 31, he'll have 10-11 in positioning/catching/agility/stamina. And you've just spent 4 seasons wages on him.
