when it comes to players Should I be looking to build some young players up and how many stars in talent (or anything else) should I be looking for. thanks in advance

Find the "Spilling the Beans" post, it should be stickied around here somewhere, it gives you a good baseline to work with for each position.

being a new team, spend 80% of you $250K starting money on VIP seats.

do not buy players for a while. look at you current roster. use your weekly youth pull to replace the older players. anyone over 24yo will just not develope by the time they are 28.

the oldest player needs to be removed first, and work your way down the age groups.

once all players a 24 or younger, then start looking for talent 3.5 stars or higher.

remove the lowest talent players first, and move up until you have all player 3.5 stars and over.

this will take 2-3 seasons, and somewhere in there, you'll have enough cash to start buying players also and replacing the others.

after many seasons, i still have 6 players under 3.5 stars.

On a sidenote, sometimes you can find a real bargain on the transfer market that you can afford to buy and keep. For example, I listed two of my players that are under 20 with 4 star talent today at $2750 each (cot bids on both already) as I do not need them. They are the same ages as my players in those positions already and the current players are more developed.

That being said, be very careful when buying players. You do not want to pick up a high wage player unless you can keep him. Also, some managers are less than honest with their ad listings, either intentionally or accidently (I screwed up mine actually, had a fight with the cat while typing, ended up listing one as talent 6 instead of 4).
