I wish I would have taken this approach when I first started. Instead, I trained up my players as high as they could go, while just barely managing to turn a profit each season. Back then, it was a lot more tempting to put the needs of the roster before the stadium, since there were far fewer competitive teams.

But now, it's caught up with me, and I had no choice but to rebuild. Sure, the BLACK STARS had a good run, but it's over now. And it will probably be years before we're back on top.

So, basically, if I had to give any advice to anyone just starting out: focus on a stadium first, while compiling a group of young/cheap players with a lot of upside. Once you get between 30 - 40 millions in the bank, then you'll really be setup to do some serious damage, without having to worry about your future.

Very wise words. It will catch up with you eventually, no matter who you are

Just take my early cup exit as an example. Never count on cup schedule to balance your season. Will be very interesting the next few seasons if I can continue to stay competitive with lower salary than most of the TD teams. There is no way I can afford Blitz type salaries. I'm sure aflc helps, but you have to make it there first and staying there is not so easy

Challenge TD teams with huge stadiums to Friendlies every week and you will be fine for cash.

Horrible advice, please do not follow this advice. Stadiums built properly with 13,500 seats will give you the most possible friendly income. All VIP, all exec and 1000 regular seats. Anything more lowers the average ticket price/revenue.

Agree, if you are a newer team that need the income from friendlies you should try to schedule games at a stadium around 12-16k in size and against teams that are at or near the top of there division to maxamize attendance.

Spot on. The income from a 60K stadium is around $60K, the income from a full vip/exec/1000reg (13.5K) stadium is $238,500.

At the start of the season, attendences are around 7-9K, and then go up throughout the season. Best to check you previous weeks friendly to know what size stadium to aim for. I have 15K last week. So I know to aim for that size next week as an example.

Weird. I've lost count of the times I've read on here that you should schedule games at larger stadiums. It's a genuine surprise to now find its otherwise.
