I keep saying I'm going to be truly competitive soon, but then I spot something shinier and go back to the drawing board so I'm unlikely to challenge for top spot next season. CBs undergoing a 5* reshuffle, TEs similarly, LBs probably soon, and now Qbs!

Bought my new 4.5* talent 20 intel 19 con QB. Is 22, but has relevant skills up to 10 (and 18 teamwork!) already and just needs BPOS. By far the most I've spent on a player, but I'm only 620k in the red for this week's balance after it!

The 5* UK Mitch Watt clone is only slightly ahead in development (but way ahead in BPOS and behind in stamina) so I'll still be sticking to my stopgap Fin option as a starter for now.

You got him for a bargain considering his talent and current skill set. 1.5-2.0 seasons and he'll be going awesome. Saw you bidding on him, wasn't sure if you won him though.

His stadiums income is 3 times bigger than his wages. That $620K in the red will only take a fortnight to ditch. And he has got one or maybe more cup games to prop himself up. Still a risky move though. Glad I'm far away from economic dispair. Not a bold move I'd make. But then fortune favours the bold. Maybe I should start spending my millions.

No no no.

-620k FOR THIS WEEK'S TURNOVER. It's actually now closer to -520k as I forgot I had a friendly.

I made over 3 million in Ticket Income alone this week.... Just using that buys me the player - no savings used!

I essentially just have to pay this week's wages & maintenance using only club shop income, sponsor income, and about 250k in sold players (minus small tax) that have yet to come - which is where THIS WEEK'S shortage comes from. I made the comment because I was pleased that I could throw out a pretty big signing and hardly make a dent in savings.

Overall, I've still made a few million this season (not including the ~230k to come within the next 9 hours) despite spending 3million on one player resulting in this week's modest negative turnover.

Never fear, it's under control! I've been playing this for way too long to not see an economic crisis like that coming.

Wow those were some wacky games this week!

Swift Kick in the Grass 7 - 14 Tiger Bay Buccaneers
Wacky game no.1 - 2 interceptions by the Bucs in the first and that lead into a defensive style of game for the rest of the day.

Super Sleuths 31 - 63 Tuff Gong Iron Backs
Wacky game no.2 - Iron Backs and Sleuths playing a high offense game. No one making a defense stop and gain the advantage for most of the game. Iron Backs showed their might at the ending stanza walking the in the final 4 TDs.

Kamikaze 49 - 7 Damage Inc.
"4th-4-KAM64 Pass Jett Bowden pass to Cornel Nenciu for 20 yards for a first down!" Sums up the day doesn't it. Everything Kamikaze did worked and Damage copped the raw end of it all.

Sunshine Coast Buccaneers 41 - 35 Bergertrons
Wacky game no.3 - A whole extra quarter was needed to seperate these two. The lead changed several times thoughout the game. Looked like the Trons were gonna win, and the Bucs came up with 2 interceptions and 2 TDs in the fourth. Then it looked like the Bucs would win, and then the Trons scored very late to send it to overtime.

---

On a personal note about my teams performance today. Pretty dissappointed in the offense. After a 50 yard kickoff return, had a 3 and out. And after really good field position after a punt, popped up a interception on the first play.

I'm not trying to be disrespectful to my opponent, but when my defense get 6 sacks and 2 interceptions, we shouldn't be close to going to overtime. Should've had another 2 TDs and them 2 less maybe. That's the way the dice roll, I still got the win, (just).Last edited on 2013-04-28 at 9:17

I saw the scoreline of my game and just assumed "Oh hey, must be still going" and then I looked at the time...

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought some of the scorelines from this week were very unexpected. Not worried I lost, Tiger Bay have been a bogey team for me in the past, but the scoreline sure is odd.
