Optimum Physical Stats

Assuming that the BMI rule will be implemented in the foreseeable future *clears throat* what do people think the optimum physical stats are for each respective position?

Given that under the BMI rule, the speed and strength stats combined for each position can never exceed 35, then what combinations of speed and strength should we be looking for, for each position?

eg.

For an OLB, is speed 19 strength 16 considered to be a more effective combination than speed 18 strength 17?

For a MLB, is speed 16 strength 19 a better combo than speed 18 strength 17?

and so on...

All suggestions welcome.

If you are arguing if +/- 1 will have an affect, then you will find no answer here.

Whether the BMI will be there or not, max speed or max strength will still be alpha - omega for 90% of the positions. The rest are given by position (kicker and QB) with a strength around 13.

Other primary skills are way more important and this is where balanced building and talent (maximum cap on non-physicals) take charge. And then also energy, team chemistry and experience...

But if you have to 100% equal players and have a 16/19 and 17/18 str/spd then IMHO - flip a coin. (Or look at consistency...)

It all be a guess, as the devs stated the physicals will play more of a role in the new engine. So any possible theories could be completely incorrect once the new engine Version.YR2020 is implimented.

This is what I'm thinking:-
Pos - SPD/STR

QB - n/a
maybe if the QB runs in the new engine, then speed might be the only physical worth training?

HB - 19/16 or 18/17 or 17/18
speed vs power back, who knows which will work in new engine?

FB - 18/17 or 17/18

WR - 20/15 or 19/16

TE - 19/16 or 18/17 or 17/18 or 16/19
faster revieving vs strong blocking TE, just like RB, dunno which will be better?

OT - 15/20 or 16/19
the more strength the better?

OG - 16/19 or 17/18
who know if the guards will pull on run play, so speed might or minght not be a factor, might just make all the OL 15/20 and be done with it.

C - ???,
who knows in GI world. maybe just put a OLinemen that caps at 18STR here.

DE - 15/20 or 16/19 or 17/18 or 18/17 or 19/16
run stopper vs speed end - again who knows what best for new engine?

DT - 16/19 or 15/20

OLB - 19/16 or 18/17

MLB - 18/17 or 17/18

CB - 20/15 or 19/16

SS 19/16 or 18/17

FS 20/15 or 19/16

K - n/a

P - n/a

G - 20/15 or 19/16
the faster the better?

STCB - 20/15 or 19/16
depends on how you have your STCB sorted, if they are your CB backups, the might be the same as your CBs. if solely a STCB, then more strength for blocking is better?

KR - 20/15 or 19/16
Run forest run, the faster the better?

Again it is like trying to know how long is a ball of string. We just don't know any details or facts to really put into it. Just build you current players for this engine. I doubt much that they will be any different in the new engine.

Great stuff...

But really... talent should go first.

Brilliant, this is just the sort of guidance I was hoping for!

Do you also happen to know what the highest BMI is, in order for 20 speed to be uncapped, and the lowest possible BMI for 20 strength to be uncapped?

I wouldn't use the word "guidance" ... this is educated speculation (btw ... I'm not meaning to criticise SrednaD or Projectracing as they both know what they're talking about) .... but the point is this ... If/when a New Engine ever arrives, worry about it then as Admins will need to provide some basic info about it, until then don't waste much time worrying about height/weight/BMI etc.

Anyway .... here is the BMI chart that gives you some info you might be interested in :-

BMI-Max Strength/Max Speed
20 13/20
21 13/20
22 13/20
23 14/20
24 14/20
25 14/20
26 15/20
27 15/20
28 15/20
29 16/19
30 16/19
31 16/19
32 17/18
33 17/18
34 17/18
35 18/17
36 18/17
37 18/17
38 19/16
39 19/16
40 19/16
41 20/15
42 20/15
43 20/15
44 20/14
45 20/14
46 20/14
47 20/14

BMI = 26-28 best strength at maximum speed
BMI = 32-34 speed balanced
BMI = 35-37 strength balanced
BMI = 41-43 best speed at maximum strength
