I know there is no for sure way of knowing what player to take, but is it smart to go by age? Or does anyone have luck picking a certain position?

Thanks in advance

My method of picking Youth Pulls is:

1) Age
2) Highest physical skills + agility (Since I have wasted good money on a Youth Academy)
3) Name

Position is completely irrelevant.

If you are ever feeling down, just know that neither of Dorfenschmirtz's parents showed up to his birth.

This is the same for me.
For example this morning I had 3 17 year old players, all with the same speed and only one of them had a name which wasn't double barrelled, therefore he made the squad.

Same way I hire and fire people in real life. Makes such decisions sooooo much easier.

Age
Position
Name

(Last 2 don't really matter)

Just remember that a 16 year old on 10 speed and strength will take more than a season to be on equal terms with a 17 year old on 15 speed and strength, for instance. Sometimes, but not often, the older players make more sense.

Not that I've had much luck in youth pulls since, like, season 8.

True, but only valid if you can see those skill values.

if you do not see those skills, you can assign them random skills to help make the decision

Yes... or apply wishfull thinking multiplied by shear luck?
