Had quite a few players cap in training this week - I just wondered what's the lowest strength that an OL or DL can get away with in capping and still be worth keeping - 16, 17, 18?

I would not settle for anything less than 17 depending on speed. At least capping over 35 (spd+str)... but then again... I have a 16/16 DE playing decent D-Line, but that has more to do with his 5 BPOS, I think.

Thanks, I had a feeling that anything less than 17 would be too low to retain.

Regarding your comments on speed, I can appreciate the importance of speed for a defensive end, or a left or right tackle on defence, but is speed actually of any value in this game for say, the nose tackle, guard or centre positions? I'd rather assumed that lack of speed didn't really matter in these positions.

Only 'slow' player I have is a Guard with 9 speed, but 20 strength.

Speed should not matter for guards and C's. And DT's don't matter at all if your opponent is playing the pass so they can be 20STR slugs for all that I care...

That's a relief, because slugs are all I've got right now.

Is there any point in capping over 35 in combined speed and strength, as the BMI rules don't appear to allow a player to go above 35 anyway ie. the highest permutations of speed and strength allowed, are 16/19, 17/18, 18/17 and 19/16 - any of the other permissible permutations add up to less than 35 on aggregate.

Yes, cause there is no BMI rule.. It is yet to be implemented, so right now you might as well go as high as possible since training physicals wont effect wages=a smart thing to do for a young team building the stadium

19 or 20 strength is all i look for in OL/DL. i might consider a 17SPD/18STR for DE, but that you be the only position i'd go that low strength.

To me 4,5*+ talent is what matters the most, I can compromise a bit on strenght, so for me an 18 str OL would suffice

I agree. I have two 5* BPOS 18 Strength OL players. These have supplanted 20ST 4.5* BPOS Players in my line up. Having said that I am still looking for 5* 20ST guys!
