Hey guys im new to gridiron, and after reading a hell of a lot of post on this forum and other im asking myself if it is really worth keeping a 5 star talent player. My coaches are all level one for the moment and im under the impression that my focus should go first to improving the capacity of the stadium in order to generate revenue and then only coaches. So my question is would it not be more wiser to cash in on the valuable player yet or will there be enough time for me to train them properly despite my lack of coaching staff?

I'd definitely sell him - I kept the only 5* player I had (still have him) and once you are earning from having some seats you can easily find bargain players. I'd have completed my stadium build and it's taken me 2 years to train him to a half-decent level!

If he is high CONS/INT you may really get a lot for him. I'd be happy to place a negotiated starting bid for you if you wanted to make his skills figures available

depends on his age, intelligence and consistency as to whether hes worth selling...

thanks for the answers guys, but unfortunately it was just a genuine questions maylie and I haven t got a 5 star player....yet.
I m just trying to find out how to best start, as from what i gathered here and there the financial side of the business is very important and i thought it might be a bit wasteful to keep a 4.5 or 5 star player. But do not worry if I get one i will let EVERYBODY know

if you have a young(18 or less years old) 4.5* talent player then he'd probably be worth selling if 16 years old you should get up to a million, if high intelligence or consistency then 1-2 million and if high in both then up to 5 million is possible but the older they get the lower the value

seriously, that type of money would surely be welcomed...
So i should focus on trying optimizing my team with 3 or 4 star player, in the mean time sell the very promising player as they would probably loose on some of their potential if they stayed with me. I will therefore put top priority on building the stadium while keeping a close look on the trades as there seems to be a lot of Serbian and french activities

Now I have tried to find some kind of rules for trades on the forums but couldn t find nothing that helps.
Is there some kind of gentleman's agreements that you advertise your available players on a specific post that everybody can see or do you try to keep it british first
I don t want to break some kind of unwritten rule but at the same time i can aslo read that some of you guys are very into NT and WC. So is it more a community thing or full on GREEDY

On an other note i have just played my first game today and despite the fact it was a BOT team I followed it live and I have to admit it took me back a "few" years prior to have more TV channels (and NO illegal streaming either!!!!) when the only way to follow some game live was the play by play on what some of you might call the "original" net.
It was pretty fun

there is an Ads section post in there his talent and a link to the player, make sure you say how long you've been in the game as this will tell everyone that chances are he is uncapped in physical skills

I'd say it does depend on age. If he's over 20 right now, sell him. If he's 20 or under keep him.

What you want to be doing right now is building an okay team that can mature over time, whilst keeping it as cheap as possible.

Train strength/speed/stamina for all players until they reach their caps. And even when speed and strength can't be taken up any more, go to just stamina, but don't bother taking stamina over 12.

Then go to training the other attributes. Wages are mainly linked to the key attributes. So a linebacker with tackling of 10 or a QB with passing of 10 will cost you about 11k a week-ish, doesn't matter what their speed or strength is. SO don't be sitting there now training your QB to have 18 passing, because next season it will cost a fortune.

Personally, what I would do is just not care too much right now. Keep any players 4 star talent or above that are 20 or under in age. Sell high talent players over 20. Then in a couple of seasons when you have your VIP seats and exec seats sorted out and your training facilities (do your fitness facility ASAP though for obvious reasons). Then in a few seasons when you have some money start buying young high talent players, and maybe get lucky in your youth pulls, dump your low talent players and build from there.

Be patient, expect promotion to take a few seasons. It'll be worth it.
