On one hand, it's a loss of game revenue on that day. On the other, you're guaranteed 2nd round prize money at the least instead of chancing losing in the 1st. That's at least 30,000 or so depending on your region.

I agree and I'd much rather have the income.

It would probably be hard to do, but I think there should be some set amount to give those that got a bye for that game. Just too much money lost by not playing.

Unfortunately I've never been one to care about top leagues, certainly in this situation where 3 of the teams only came up from 1 league below and the other 7 started there and all they did was manage to not get relegated!
The top divisions are no indication of anything right now except who signed up in early August.

With the stadium seating nowhere close to the minimum attendance even in division 8, being in the upper leagues has negligible difference, and certainly is no compensation for losing $300,000 in income.
Hell, that's more than the difference you get for fighting all season through 18 weeks of games to come top, or not giving a toss, messing around like you don't care about players/tactics and coming 10th, for prize money.

Also why does the No.1 team in the league NOT have an auto progress? I was thinking maybe it was to add some parity between upper and lower league income, but 1 team out 10 is going to get his Round 1 cup income, tough luck to the other 9 teams?
Sorry, but it makes about as much sense as the random "first week home/away" debacle I brought up elsewhere. Some teams are getting badly screwed over on game income just by random selection.
Doesn't seem to encourage a balanced game where everyone has equal chance to my mind.

yeah, I have the bye week too, it would be nice to give teams with the bye some amount of money to compensate for the lost income

I know this was brought up last year, and if I remember right the Admins said they wouldn't give those with byes any money. I'm just going off of memory though, and seeing as how that was 2-3 months ago, they may not have.
