Ok, so I survived my first season. Additionally, somewhere along the way, the other human that was curb stomping everyone in my division(V.40) went bot, with a net result of me winning the league. Which leads to a few questions.

1) How do I figure out which league in division IV I will be going to?
2) I've been expanding my passing attack all season, as the word is rushing doesn't cut it in higher divisions, but is rushing still a viable backup/supplement to a passing game in division IV?
3) I've been trimming off the dead wood(1 stars and over 26 YoA) from the team, as I understand it, 3.5/4 star is the minimum useful talent in the upper divisions. Does that apply to division IV as well, or can I effectively 'soldier on' with my current crop of 2-3.5 star guys until I can obtain stronger(talent wise) players?

When moving up, take your league number (40) and divide by 3 rounding up. This tells you what league you will be in when advancing to the next division. So you'll be in IV.14 next season.
The effectiveness of running has more to do with your league makeup then exactly how high you are. Currently in North America, division IV is still relatively weak, meaning it's majority bots. So running should still be quite effective.
As for using 2-3.5* talents, grow at a pace you're comfortable with. You don't want to spend large amounts of money on high talents, then end up going bot because you overspent. The faster you can get the high talents and start developing them, the faster you'll be able to move up, but again, if you move too quickly, you could end up in trouble.

Yeah, the wage costs were one of my concerns when it comes to choosing players. Hence why I elected to exchange the old folks first, rather than all the <3.5 star ones. I figure until I have finished the executive seats(VIP already done) I'd try an hold on with the lower cost players, but if it meant bouncing back down a division I was going to try and figure an alternate strategy. Thanks for the information on the rushing game as well, as my completion percentage is usually around 25-30%, and the rushing attack at least keeps the first downs coming on a regular basis.

I think the wage costs are what got the other human in my league actually, based on the scores and his suddenly turning bot...

On players lower than 3.5-stars, you probably shouldn't plan on keeping them long term, but my 2-star MLB has been great for me and I'll be promoting to Div II next season. Admittedly, he is 19/19 strength/speed and 18 INT with 20 Consistency. I'll be looking to replace him soon, but don't totally discount low-star players.

Also, there are plenty of bots in Div IV. Remember that you just have to finish above three teams to avoid relegation. That should give you plenty of time to work on your team without worrying about ending up back in Div V.

expect there to be 3 human teams in your div4 with maybe an extra 1 if 1 relegates to it from div3 keep building steadily you shouldnt rush it to much

The only rushing I am interested in involves a double wing.

Hopefully, it works out, the game today was postponed due to weather, so on the field hoping my boys can pull out a win tomorrow. Ah the curse of being a coach in real life, I think I stress over the games more than the players.

Higher talent players don't cost any more than low talent players. It's all in what their highest skill point is. You can collect 3.5* and 4* talent players fairly cheap and just train their spd/str. That will give you higher talent players and keep the wages down as well. Just don't spend a lot of money buying them up.

The running game can be quite effective through div III, after that, I have not seen any exclusive or majority running teams continue to be effective. It's certainly adequate for div V and IV for sure. With that said, I used a passing attack from the get go against human teams and a running attack for bot match ups
