Easy Bid didn't look at the wages

I've don it. I saw a great deal but didn't check the wages, this seems a common mistake amounst us Newbies. If I can't fire him before 0400 and no-one else outbids me the 3 players I've bid for with a combined $150,000 wage bill will wipe me out.

I'm not moaning but perhaps clear message on day one from Admin in the inbox would avert this.

No fear, economic update happens on Wednesday morning, so you have a week to drop those high wage player(s) before it hurts you. The only time you're stuck with a 3 hour window is on players you win on Tuesdays.

You spent 14.500 GI$ to learn that new teams should stay away from the transfer market and concentrate on building a stadium...

Not a bad lesson learned... many others have tried and failed... you will succeed because you cutted your losses before worse things happened!

The lesson is not that new teams should keep away from the transfer market, but that new teams should look at wages.

I have played the market since I first joined GI but I had read Spilling The Beans TWICE before I did. Some sound advice and presently my wages are 220k and home games make me 1.2m

Best hints:

Play friendly every week (at a ground holding 10-15k)
Always check your sponsors are selected
Only buy players whose wage is less than 5k
Chuck every spare penny into your ground
Hire coaches once- when you can afford all those you want
And if you have any 4.5* players advertise and sell them
And finally train only physicals

This should put you in good stead

Agreed, Spilling the Beans is a must read. Also, remember a lot of the players that you see for sale at this time of the season are going to be at a much higher wage a few weeks from now. Season roll over time.

Not really
I d say buy coaches in 2 chunks.
why waste money when u re groping to find caps.
for instance 20 fitness or 20 fitness+ 20 def/20att hired initially
and the rest later
