Ok... I've been here for some time, but I need input on this question.

I have a 4½ BPOS Safety that I would like to convert to LB (Yes... a looooong project since he is only ½ star BPOS as LB). But I have other talent at Safety and need quality at LB.

So... if I start playing him as LB at ½ star BPOS - how much will it affect his skills? He has 19 POS, 17 TKL, 17 AGI and physicals are fine.

If the project is doomed dead before start, he will hit the transfer market since 68k/week is too much for a backup...

Thanks

Even though his skills are compatible with linebacking, his match rating will be around 1 or 2 stars while his BPOS is very low. Furthermore, it will take about 2 seasons to get him up to 4.5 BPOS in his new role.

It may be advisable to play him as linebacker in friendlies and bot-stomps, and play him as safety in the competitive matches until he reaches about 3.5 BPOS. It will take slightly longer to reach the optimum level, but you won't be compromising your defence in the meantime.

I'm in the process of trying several players at multi-positions and the main concern is the age of the player. BPOS takes 10 games for an increase, but the seperate skills training is what really takes the time.
If the player is under 25, you've got a chance of a few seasons use at two positions, but if any older, not much hope IMO.

24 years old Johan Kristensen so there is still some juice in the can...

2 seasons equals 2.720.000$ in wages - would a 26 year old 3½ star SS/LB go for that much? I don't think so, so I think I will let him hit the market and build on my new guys.

Unless this team: Nitro Shock messes up and looses their game against me and against one more team, it looks like I will stay in IV and my budget is not showing a surplus in season 12, so 1.360.000 saved per year in wages will clear room for other improvements.

Thanks for the help... I think I just needed to vent the idea in the public to see the conclusion of my thoughts...

Agree with your thinking on this one. The wage saving can go on either a decent player or stadium/facilities, depending on what you have left to do.

Yes, if his wages weren't going to be in the 85,000 bracket next season, I'd say go for it, but for a division 4 team having such an expensive player is quite extravagant.
