Does footwork matter on the performance on a QB in the current engine or will it matter in the new one? Or doesn´t it matter anyway ^^

Thx

Some say it does. Some say it doesn't. How know with the new engine.

Judging by the description the devs gave us one what fottwork is. I'd say it is only a skill for RB and KR.

It surely comes in handy when they rush, which might be useful for the next engine. It could be reckoned that it's also helpful for throwing mechanics, avoiding sacks and so on, but there's no way of knowing for sure.

Not tripping over center's feet
Shuffling around in the pocket
The below the waist aspect of throwing

Whether any of that's in the engine or not is another matter. The devs and many of their fanboys think it is better and funnier not to know.

It is better not to know. This allows for a myriad of different player builds in the game, which in turns leaves the competitive ceiling for teams more open and brings out the management ability of each team to figure out the best builds. If they told us exactly how to build each player, then all the teams that put in enough time would pretty much be identical. What would be the point in that? I see no management challenge in that at all.

They are not trying to be funny, but rather, they are leaving the game open for much more competition from different player builds. They have let everyone know that each player uses 3-5 skills, that is a pretty decent hint. Not 6, not 1 or 2, but 3-5 skills. They have also stated that well rounded players will perform better than "one skill" wonders. You continue to amaze me with the amount of time you put in to complaining. The same amount of time could be used in trying to figure out the best player builds yourself.

Personally, my QB runs out of the shotgun on every down, so there is very minimal footwork. However, as a rule of thumb, I train my QB's to 10 footwork, just in case. I believe the following skills are the most important to a QB in order of most important:

Passing
Vision
Positioning
Agility
Footwork
Stamina

and there in lies the beauty of this game the way it is.............there are a hundred managers out there that will have a different list or different order of importance for just this one position.

I prefer not to know exactly what goes into the equation and what doesn't. If you have all the information, then it's just a question of what order you train in. But it takes all sorts, and some prefer to follow a pattern, and others prefer to try to work things out for themselves. Neither is right or wrong, it's just a preference. My preference is to try to work it out using a combination of NFL type logic, and trial and error (mainly error), in friendlies over a period of time. Hopefully I get it right.

No, not being told that certain skills will have "no" effect is dumb and a waste of peoples time. We should know this.

You do not get all your linebackers in a swimming pool and get them to do 100m sprints all day long. You do not get olympic swimmers to do tackling drills.

In reality, agility, footwork, positioning and vision (btw, what is the difference between vision and intel?) will all make some sort of difference to a player's performance.

Okay, clearly you are not realizing that this is a management GAME. YOU have to decide which 3-5 skills to build for each player on your team. It's really not that hard and I have my entire team swim all day on Wednesdays........what's wrong with that? My team is undefeated this season, so it's obviously working

My team swims on Wednesdays too, after which they have compulsory chess practice to improve their intelligence. It must work, as I have some of the most intelligence linemen in my division.

Nice My team starts yoga workouts on Friday, we'll have to see how it works out for the game Saturday
