Hiring new coaches

This is a really stupid question but ......

I don't get how the "hire new" box works for hiring new coaches.

Basically, what I want to do is this :-

I've currently got a level 20 fitness coach, I want to keep him, but I want to hire a level 20 attacking coach and a level 20 defending coach.
So what numbers do I put in the "hire coach" box in order to keep the fitness coach but also hire the other 2 new coaches ?
Thanks.

p.s. - is it better to do it in 2 stages, or should it not make any difference ?

you need to put them in as if your starting from nothing again so put all the coaches you want up to 20

um? i'd put those numbers in.

hire all at once. there is a signing fee, so better off paying it once than multiple times.

You hire 20 fitness, 20 attacking, and 20 defending at one time as others have said. Remember, you are not adding coaches to your current staff, you are firing your current staff and hiring a new staff. So anytime you make coaching changes, ignore what you have and hire what you want. For future reference, next time you plan to make coaching changes, fire the current staff after the training update, but before the economic update. Then hire the new staff after the economic update. This will save you a weeks worth of coaching wages.

As you've probably already figured out, it's best to make the coaching change all at once instead of in stages. You'll have to pay the hiring bonus each time you hire coaches for all the coaches you are hiring, even if you already had that set of coaches on staff, because again, you're firing the current staff and hiring a new staff.

Yeah, I get it now ....although I do think it's a bit illogical to have to hire a whole team.
However, I've long since stopped worrying about 'illogical' things in this game (Friendly revenues and the dreaded Nutrition Centre spring to mind), and I just go with the flow now.
Therefore, I think I'll also add a tactical coach to the mix and get the whole lot ... apart from the kicking coach though, I don't think I'll ever want a kicking coach ... they're just not worth the money, it'd be far cheaper (long-term) to just buy a ready-made kicker on the market.
