Talent and Max Skills

I have a 0.5 star talent player who has 14 speed and 13 strength. He keeps popping these stats of his own accord. How is this happening? The guides in the newbie forum suggest that at 0.5 talent his skills should max out at 11. Do I have a freak or a bug?

There is always a small chance for the player to improve even capped skills...

Physical skills cap randomly regardless of talent. You could have a 5 star talent cap at 11 speed and 8 strength.
Non physical skills cap based on talent though. At 0.5 star talent, skills like passing would cap at 11, but then you'd have a small chance to improve on them with later training up to a maximum of 3 higher than their original cap. For example, a 3 star talent would normally cap at 16 passing, but if lucky could reach 19.

Also, why on earth are you keeping a 0.5 star talent on your team?!?

Thank you.
So how do I know when a physical skill has capped?

Well I am in Div 5 and at the moment he is no worse than others I have.

If you have a supporter account, there will something in the players stats that let you know it's capped. I don't have a supporter so I don't know what the symbol looks like, but it's there. For those of us without supporter, you have to manually track you're training. You need figure up the minimum training points the player can get each week. The formula is (8+fitness coach score+(teamwork/2))*fitness center multiplier*age multiplier*.75
This tells you have many training points the player gets for the fitness skill you focus trained. 100 training points is needed to increase the skill 1 point. So, divide 100 by the number you got to find out the maximum number of weeks of training needed to increase the skill. Add an extra week for any fraction, to be certain. If after that number of weeks of focus training that skill, the skill doesn't increase, it's capped.
If you have 20 fitness coaches and fully upgraded fitness center, it takes most players 4 weeks to increase a fitness skill. Some players can do it in 3 weeks. If you don't have max fitness coaches and fitness center, don't even worry about it because it takes way too many weeks to increase 1 skill point(something like 16).

For supporter, you just get a red star next to the speed or strength when capped

Thank you for the explanations.
20 fitness coaches! I have just increased to 4 and that cost enough. Still Rome was not built in a day.

You should wait with the fitness coaches until you can afford all 20 at one time and you have all VIP and EXEC's built.

I agree with SrednaD on this one, don't buy coaches until you can afford 20 of whatever coaches you are buying. You will pay the sign on bonus each time you make increases which will cost you far more money in the long run. Since you already have what you got, stick with it. It won't help much, but you've already paid the bonus, might as well get something out of it. But wait until you can get 20 fitness coaches before getting any more. Remember, when you get coaches, you aren't adding to what you have, you are firing what you have and replacing with what you bought. So, with you already having 4 fitness, you can't add 16 to get 20, you need to pay for the 20 at one time.

Thanks for the tips.
I will bide my time before signing coaches again.
