How do you train

I have noticed that there are loads of players being sold at the transfer market with stats like:

Catching 12 Speed 10 Strenght 12
or Footwork 14 Speed 12 Strenght 8
Why do they have such low Strenght/Speed?

I always train Strenght/Speed until they are capped, then stamina to 10 and then I decide how to train the individual skills (blocking tackling catching etc.)

How do you train your players? do you start with physicals or with other skills?

You should always - always - always start with the physicals. For several reasons:

1) Money - Training football skills is gonna cost you a ton in money in wages next season. A player with 9/10 in football skill will cost you between 6.000 and 9.000 GID a week. That is money taken from VIP and EXEC seats. Bad investment.

2) Caps - What use is a WR with 10 catching and capping speed at 12? Or your 6'8" OL capping strength at 12? Would have been a great WR/TE if speed caps at 19+...

3) Positional change - If your WR caps speed at 12... could he then transfer to another position? What if he caps strength at 20? You will have lost several seasons of BPOS by forcing him to play WR.

4) Money used for upgrades and trainers are better spent on physical skills. Almost all positions need to cap at least one physical and you avoid using too much money on training hall and att/def coaches. Again only if you have VIP and EXECs, you should build fitness centre and hire coaches. Money should be saved and used to build VIP and EXEC.

In fact (yes - I know I have the players to do it), I never play a player in his position until at least one physical has capped.

IMHO there are many people that don't read if you look at the transfer market....

you will find the most bizarre players

for example a guy with vision 20 and rest of the skills low etc.

I don't know how the people come up with that

I can tell you its hard.
But the best I´ve sawn on the Transfermarket was a QB vision 1 passing 15 speed 8
strength 7

I recently saw a 4.5 BPOS qb with 18 vision and 3 or 4 passing, this type of training is just a guarantee of eventual bankruptcy

It also makes players like that virtually impossible to sell, unless the seller happens to get lucky and find an equally clueless buyer.
Always provides a laugh though when you find a player who is not only a 'one-skiller', but also when that particular skill is bordering on useless in isolation !

Set the minimum speed and strength you will be happy with for every position on your team. Train to these minimums, then train your player skills. I will allow players to be minus 1 or even 2 on fitness if they are 4.5 or 5* talent players, but those are the only exceptions for fitness. The extra bpos later on will overcome 1 or 2 fitness points for sure. It's tempting to start playing them at the position you eventually want, but as Monkey pointed out, you're shooting yourself in the foot if they don't make it to your minimum numbers. I will do it occasionally, if they are 4.5 or 5* players and they are within a few points of my minimum

I've come to allowing players to get to at least 13 of each physical skill to prevent them being cut. Seeing as the probability of any 3.5 or higher talent player actually reaching the 35 combined is about 1%. All my 2 star talent players with high enough bpos to remain starters for now seem to have no problem hitting 35 combined.
