Q1 - are both teams considered when calculating this and then added together? Otherwise team form must be a huge factor.

Q2 - pretty sure about this since I just got nothing in my last away game, but is it true that we get no money for away games? And why are friendlies different then?

This is from FAQ.

Attendance
Attendance is calculated by using the basic attendance (60.000) and manipulating that number by different factors that effect the willingness of spectators to come and see the game:
- League level
The basic attendance is lowered by 6.000 for each level below the first; 54.000 for second level, 48.000 for third, 42.000 for fourth, and so on until the basic attendance is 6.000. The basic attendance stays 6.000 after the tenth level.
- Team Form
Team form plays a big factor in the minds of the spectators. They are much more willing to come and root for their team if the team has a good league run and less willing to come when the team hits a bad streak.
- Team Postion
For every position above the last a team gets 1% more attendance. (For Example: a Team that is fifth will get 5% more attendance - calculated with the basic attendance, not the attendance modified by the team form or weather)
- Weather
Weather can make a big difference when it comes to attendance. If it's sunny then the crowds are more willing to go and see the match. If the weather is bad then the people tend to stay at home rather than go to the game.

It doesn't specifically say that both teams are considered, but I believe most think this is the case as you'll see higher attendances when playing teams near the top of their league and/or higher divisions. And yes, team form does seem to be a large factor.

Yes, only the home team gets money from ticket sales.
In leagues, all teams play home and home against every other team in the league. This allows teams to spend their money on stadium improvements and get the benefits of it, instead of having to share it with other teams, some of which may not be spending to improve their stadium, but instead be satisfied leaching off your expenditures.
Friendly, regional cup, and (I believe) AFLC games are all split income games. In friendly games, it's up to you and your opponent as to where you play the game, so you are able to choose the stadium that you hope provides the most income. Regional cup games are automatically played at the stadium with the most seats (decided at the time the game is scheduled, not at the time the game is played). This should provide good income for both teams. I don't know for sure on AFLC games, so if it's that important to know, someone with experience there should give the details.

Hope this helps.

Yeah, well it says the base is 60,000 so the only way to get to 132,500 from there is to add both players together or put a LOT of emphasis on form.

Anyway.................

Q1 - yes both teams situations are used in the calculation.

Q2 - yes. Q2.5 - just because it is the way it is.

About the only time you're going to see attendance of 132500 is in AFLC or Iron Bowl. I haven't seen any examples of it in league games or regional cup games. So, even though it doesn't mention it, I'd say the type of game has an effect as well.

Look on his front page, you will see that two sections of his stadium is under construction. The seats that were there before construction started won't count for the stadium in it's current state because those seats can't be filled again until construction is done.

Ah, yes, I see. Be nice to have a stadium seat number recorded at the time of the game. I feel another suggestion coming on.

These are both league games with crowds of 107534 and 104545 (wet).

It seems that if you win more than lose then you climb and climb and climb until you reach 132,500. Maybe when you reach 132,500 you need to simply break even (win as many as you lose), or maybe a bit better, to stay there. Skinks season fits this mould. Here's his league season -

away win
65739 win storm
away win
78219 win wet
away win
85020 win
(wins a friendly and gets a regional auto progress here but only a 3000 jump)
88421 win
away win
93318 loss
(He wins a friendly and cup game between these - looks like they count toward form)
100086 win
away win
91074 win wet
away win
107534 win
away win
away loss
104545 win wet
away loss

Probably the reason it appears that aflc and region games yield more is simply because those teams are winners and have been "climbing" for quite a while.

So the "form" factor is important and important to sustain. As is obvious, the goal is simply to win more than lose. But once you're establised it would seem it may be easy to stay established. Maybe it's a little easier to fall than stay at that level.
