There's two options for training agility - attacking and defending. Is there a difference? If so, what is it?

Thanks,

65 or 75% if you focus training. other than that, it is the same.

To add onto this, they both use different coaches. So attack agility would use attack coaching, and defensive coaching would cover training defensive agility.

As a result, the only time you should ever consider training attack agility over defensive agility is if your offensive coaches are distinctly higher than your defensive ones. Despite the 0.65 compared to 0.75 of total training points difference, if the gap between coaching levels is high enough, it can be more profitable to train attack agility. This is the only situation where you should consider focusing on attack agility instead of defensive agility. Though it could be argued that you shouldn't have such a disproportionate gap anyway and upgrade all coaches to 20 in one go when you can afford it to not incur re-occurring signing fees.

Depends also if you have any issues in using tackling / blocking on your offensive players by training defensive agility. I would for O-Line and Gunners (Who are they...??) only use defensive agility training - and of course for defensive players (baring in mind that D-Line needs footwork too...).

All other offensive players that have the ball in their hands should train attacking agility since footwork, carrying and perhaps catching will help them eventually.

But if you are a new team, I would use defensive if you don't have 20 offensive coaches.

Certainly a valid point.

Though seeing as currently (this may change with engine v3), all players play on special teams and tackle people PLUS, that OLinemen and also TEs (some people train HBs/FBs too) train blocking anyway... defensive agility isn't quite so bad. Though perhaps for WRs and the like, you're probably right.

Now - a blocking WR would not be the worst thing to have? Baring in mind that a WR first would train speed and strength (to cap or 35 combined) and then catching. Next on the list would IMHO be agility and since WR's seldom fumble for a turnover (if ever - thereby eliminating focus on carrying), I like the thought of training defensive agility. Should my WR's get a little bonus on blocking and tackling I would not mind.

3 out of my 4 (active) WR's are training defensive agility now.

The added bonus is that when I get agility to the same level as catching, I can switch to "attacking/all skills" and improve through there... and yes... loosing some points to "passing", but I am willing to risk it.
