What does a youth academy do for you?

Is it better to try to buy it or coaches, first?

From all the things you can do in GI, buildings, trainers, building stadium, etc. the youth academy comes in the last place.

The youth academy allows you to make a choice between up to 4 (or is it 5) players instead of 2. You still only get 1 youth pull per week. You also are able to see up to 4 skill numbers for the players before you choose. Unfortunately, the most important skill (talent) is not one of them. I believe its speed, strength, agility, and stamina but probably not in that order.

So as Serrie said above, take care of everything else first. Then you can get a youth academy if you feel it's worth it. Some like it, some don't.

I will add that I don't like it. I pick my guy based on who has the cooler name!

I had one for 2 weeks, then I bulldozered it. Waste of money. 4 players with SPD/STR/AGI/STA stats I can see. They still were 1.5 and 2.0 star talents.

Gone back to the old method, cross my fingers and pick the youngest player available.

I'm sure the youth pull would be more exciting if they allowed for one more upgrade that added a youth pull scout. This would allow you to scout one of the 4 players and if you didn't like it, take a stab at one of the other 3. Personally I like it, but don't see any big advantage, since it still comes down to total luck. With the youth center fully upgraded, you are just more likely to get a higher physically trained talent, since you can see those skills. That's it

With fully upgraded academy you have 4 names to choose from! Sometimes they have the same last name, so you can have brothers in the squad!
I dont mind the academy, if you are cashed up its good.
If you get to choose from skills and get a relatively high SP and ST say 13 to 14 and 7 Agility etc, you can still sell on the trade market even with a lower talent...SO its ok and adds something to the game.

I agree, but it would still be good if your scouts actually could come with a statement about the players talent... I am paying 20k a week for some dub scout to come up with 4 names on players where he has had the time and effort to measure his strength, speed, agility and fitness but has absolutely no clue if the player has enough talent to play on our team????

I tend to end up choosing either the youngest or the one with best physicals, but my chance for getting a good talent player has not increased a bit.

And 20k a week would enable you to get 2 or 3 good players that already are skilled and the money can be used better on Club Shop or seats.

But your chance of getting better skilled youth has increased and this can save lots of time in training and also you could get an incredible talent worth 500k and thats approx 25 weeks of adacemy payments!
So if you cannot bother now just wait till you get good enough income to afford it!
