Hi folks, I have my team about 2 weeks but missed the first 2 fixtures whilst I was getting to grips with the finer points.

Have read the Spilling Beans stuff etc. Two questions, if I may?

1.) Friendlies - I have sent challenges etc (using Ad board) but is there a sure-fire way of attracting opponents?
2.) Training - I am struggling to find a guide or advice on training. Do we hit physical stuff first or skills? I guess the skills will need to be trained relevant to the position I want them to play? Also younger and more talented players will increase skill quicker?

Thanks in advance

question 1)friendlys- most players are in the same boat as you, they are not that hard to schedule, in fact i will challenge you for next monday- you will get the invatition tomorrow after my game

question 2)as a rookie i would at least train there primary skill up to five or six, if they are already there then i would concentrate on strength or speed depending on there position, also, age does not matter up to 28 that is, the players teamwork is what determines if he trains a little faster or not, hope this was helpful, good luck and happy new year

Been a while since I played this game seriously but I'll take a crack at it anyways.

I remember always training my young players in physical skills first because they wont increase the player's salary and I never knew which position I would use a player at until he reached his physical peaks.

Nope not unless you talk to a manager and work out an arrangement

or join a friendly cup. But most people in friendly cups prefer that all the managers in the cup stick to the cup schedule, promptly accept challenges, etc.

If you donot have coaches or facilities(and you login regularly enough) you can train the non-physical skills up as long as your stadium building without hiccups (and /or goes according to plan )

A lot of times the player talent helps you decide where you want him to play.

For example if you have a guy with less than 3.5* talent you are probably going to stick him in the OL (or maybe G or KR or at the very most DL).
If he already has a skill trained upto 7, you can always start by training till his blocking and footwork (and maybe agility) hit 7, before training his physicals up.

The disadvantage to this technique though is his relevant physical skill(,strength for an OL,) might cap too low (lets say less than 15) and all those training cycles might go wasted.

But this technique is useful till you have coaches and facilities(and/or the supporter account ), because
without a supporter account you do not know as soon as the physicals cap

and without coaches you might end up wasting a few more training cycles before you realise a physical is capped.

Its more of a judgement call but you definitely dont have toalways train physicals first to keep wages in check, as long as the highest non-physical skill level remains the same(7 in the previous example).

Also you can use those wage predictors and basic math to evaluate the maximum non-physical skill level you can afford at each position before you start training the physical skills.

Also younger and more talented players will increase skill quicker?

Talent has no bearing on training.
Age matters.
But the training rate for everyone younger than 27 years of age is the same.(my interpretation of the FAQs)
You might want to check the FAQ >Traininng> how age influences training? for the actual slabs/write up

Thanks in advance

I would keep him since Intellect and Consistency is a important factor for a QB.

train him and be looking for a replacement as it can be a tough spot to fill, also his physicals dont mean much if they cap unlike other positions except kicker.

train his passing to 10 if u intend keeping him it will take some time without coaches but thats good as u can build your vip/exec/seats on your stadium.
