how do you get the players rating up

If you hover your cursor over the red question mark dot beside the rating stars, you will see the rating for each position for that player. The highest rating is the position the player will be listed as and the rating shown. To increase rating quickest, play the player at his listed position. If you play him at a different position, his rating will not increase until his position changes and the new position's rating increases.
