New Players: Do Not Build A Youth Academy

Just as the title says, don't build one. It's practically worthless. I've never had one, nor will I ever have one.

The Youth Academy is not an upgrade; it's a downgrade. It's akin to you paying someone else good money to shoot you in the foot. There's little reason in it.

The main reason you'd really ever want one was if you can't search the transfer markets for players. And if you can't do that in the first place, good luck winning an Iron Bowl...because you'll need it.

You need every advantage on your side to win an Iron Bowl. The Youth Academy takes that advantage away from you.

You're (much) better off spending that money on players in the transfer market.

...omg...

...i have one - now its cristal clear why i suck...

Having the YA its a nice feature - but its nothing to buy/build/own in early stage.

When in the game with a stadium of 60+ and balanced finances, then you can rethink the YA. There are pros (when getting the "one", then he has higher skills) and cons (investment and weekly cost that possibly never pay back).

I happy with - others arent - for sure its also a thing of "what do i really expect".

It's also a thing of: What the f... should I do with all my money. Lets build a YA

Uhh what? You can find "the one" for ~$3,000 in the transfer market. In fact, over time you can 5 "the one's" in the transfer market for what you pay every week for the YA.

It doesn't make any economic sense to own one, unless you can't use the transfer market, just like I said. The transfer market makes the Youth Academy practically worthless.

Each to their own but I like mine and don't mind the cost.

I have one as well, but I think I see what pack is saying.

Along those lines, I've been recruiting young players and developing them, but I probably would have been better off buying developed players on the transfer market. It can take a couple of seasons to find out where strength and speed cap, which probably means spending around $72,000 in salary. And, even with that, there is a good chance that the physicals will cap low and I'll end up wasting those salaries.

Its also good if you want to build players from your own country and own a NT player in the future. Personally i really like the YA. I have a fully upgraded academy even when i had no money. A lot of the players i get are 3.5 star plus. I was getting 4 star every week for a while. And when you cn see 4 of their skills and also pick from names etc, its ok.
However, its also a feature you can adapt after you have a decent stadium , and a feature you can add to keep it exiting etc.

I have one too, because I can effort it and bought that "luxury".

You just see some skills and have up to 4 players to choose from. The YA doesn't have an effect on talent and the other skills. I just kept 2 players since I built the YA. There are more important things you build an do as a beginner.

So:
