Why do missed tackles happen? I hate giving up these huge plays and want to know how best to prevent them from happening in the future. Thanks.

Too low tackling/agility would be a main reason, but the pass is so favored in this game that you cannot completly avoid it..

Tackling, yes. But I didn't realise I needed agility as well. I've gotten tired of watching my high level tacklers missing tackles a lot.

Never mind his dumb-ass remarks, he makes them all the time...I dont know if anyone knows the combo or if their is one. but i say tackling, agility,Pos, and maybe footwork and vision.

I light of new useful information that was excluded from the first original post. Which changes what original responses would have been. And I assume when you say high, you mean 13+ tackling?

Then I would agree with above post by training more of agility and vision.

Well...I got a 12 Pos/11 Vis/15 Tac/14 Agi (20 Speed and 16 Strength and 5 BPOS) Linebacker who still misses so many tackles... He's by far my best defender but this season, he's been involved in something like 80% of the big plays I've faced.
So, I guess I should try footwork. Or maybe is it just random (I'm kidding...or not !)

Yup I wouldn't get too hung up about it. Missed tackles are shown on scoring plays, but regular pass player don't show the actual tackles.

So for every missed tackle, there is probably 10 other tackles made.
