Safety, as safeties need intelligence different to corners.
Besides that, I think that the FS has a much more impact on pass defense then corners. (somebody deniying that?)

They need intelligence. So I dont know if intelligence <16 is enough for safeties.

Unless you are talking about how you could do with 1 safety but need 2 Cbs. You could do with 2 mediocre Cbs and 1 good CB but 2 good CBs and 1 medioccre Sf seem to perform better.

Seeing on how many safeties you have keep him at CB would help against strong WR or good on special teams

Well, he is just at the beginning (started two weeks ago), so the starting squad is not meaningful to the real qualifications of the players. 1,5* BPOS-points are just randomly spreaded on the team. So, hard facts like talent, consistency, intelligence and fitness caps should be the first focus, I guess.
Viktor, did i get it right, that two good CBs outbalance a bad safety more then the way around? (just a question for your opinion )

Wellyup
(Imo )when you are starting out you want to aim at having 1 future
candidate for each position
Qb Sf MLb Cb Wr/TE LOT ROT OLB to be competitive sooner, preferably in that order
Then get Cb2 TE/WR Og1 og2 DE1 DE2 Lb3
Then C and then players based on whatever formation you like.
Qb SF 1st MLB supposedly need intelligence. I'd say if the intelligence is green you can consider them for those positions and higher the better.
However a lot of ppl prefer using 17-18 as the cutoff.
On a sidenote beat the Wage curve by training the primary and secondary skills simulataneously and then waiting for the tertiary skill to catch up.
Eg Qb Pass, Vision to 8 and then wait for agility to hit 7
or Wr Catching and agility to 9, then vision etc
After that increment first 2 skills by 2 and then wait for the third skill to catch up.
Of course I did none of this because I regularly estimated the wages I would be able to afford the next season.
USELESS TIP #1:If you want agility to rise quicker select defense agility and when you want it to train slower select offense agiility in
USELESS TIP #2 : Don't bother about backups till you haveyour future starters on your team.( A euro saved is a peeyun earned)

Honestly, if I were starting out I'd get a defensive coach and start of blocking for the O-Line and tackling for all the defenders. Those make the most difference. On the offensive side, train the QB in passing/vision but make sure you select your best candidate for this -- lots of talent, intelligence and consistency in addition to starting out with decent passing skills. For receivers, train catching and agility. When you have the cash, diversify your coaches.
TIP 1 -- hmmm...I think you probably want to start with some tackling on all your defenders before going with agility. But if you buy defensive coaches first, then you can train agility fast too.
TIP 2 -- agree.

Really, I think CB are pretty important to pass coverage and tackling receivers. Can you explain why the safety is "more" important?
Is it that a FS gets a shot at tackling players from the right or left whereas a CB only tackles on his side?
