Even though there seems to be a limit on my players physical skill due to the need to increase or decrease the BMI, is this going to have an effect on the increase/decrease even though i havnt put them on a diet to remove this limit? the new engine has not yet been implemented so can it improve even though there is a question mark icon and it says i cannot due to the BMI.
i.e do i have to put my players on a diet to increase his strength etc.

as far as i'm aware the bmi effects have already taken effect. so the value it says when you hover over it, is their current playing number.

so i believe yes, you would need to gain some weight in order to gain higher potential str.

Stoo, are you sure with that? I thought, the BMI effects will start with the new engine and are only visible for preparation now.

As far as I know: Physical caps are still active and BMI-capped strength/speed is just a visible indicator until v2-start.

This is also my understanding of the current status...

...but im happy too i managed to "fix" most of the BMI issues already...

I've improved both the strength and speed of players who are BMI capped.

i.e. I have a young player who has his strength capped to 15 by BMI when his actual strength was 16. I continued to train strength, it is now up to 18. The notification box still shows strength capped at 15.

No BMI effect have taken place. It is a V2 game engine thing. When it does though, the BMI will control the physical caps. For now it is as normal.

But will it return to 15 once the new engine takes place? a lot of wasted time?

It depends! If you adjust his BMI you can utilize even higher Strength.

The hard caps are final - the BMI Caps are adjustable.

For the guy in question I just need to put him in the nutrition centre and add some weight to the guy. I'm not doing this yet because his BPOS is so low that he won't start for a season or two.

Having said that you do need to consider what his other physical attibute totals. It is worthless taking speed and strength combined above 35 once the BMI starts to have an impact as I understand it.

My guy has just passed 19 without capping and, as his speed capped at 15, I'll train him all the way up to 20 and then fix his weight so that neither speed or strength are effected by BMI restrictions.

If his speed was capped at 16 training the strength up further would result in a point of either speed or strength having to be wasted as you cannot acheive more than 35 physical points in total.

As such I have a TE who is uncapped but I stopped fitness training once speed hit 18 and Strength hit 17.
