First day: How best to spend my cash

Hi Folks, was just wondering what things I should spend my cash on first? I haven't spotted anything going through what experienced managers would say is a necessity and what I can wait for.

Whatever else happens, I probably need a new QB as mine starter has passing 1 (although looks as though he could cope with running game, if that were helpful)

Welcome to the game.

Have you read this:
http://www.grid-iron.org/index.php?page=community&subpage=viewt&t=4096

First thing to do with your money is to by VIP-Seats on one of the stadium sites with NO seats. Keep th 1000 Seats and spend all the money on VIP-Seats.
The game has easily 30.000 people sold out in DIV V, even the most expensive seats.
So first VIP-Seats, then EXEC-Seats. After that you have enough income to do other things.

Second thing to do is to sort out your roster regarding talent and age.
If you have a young (16-18) high talented player (4,5* or 5*) I suggest to sell him! You will start faster with your team with the money you get, than with the player.

All positions your players have at the moment are not final! You can look in your team for a player with 7 passing and line him up as QB, even he is an OL at the moment. With time he will change to QB.
This is for all positions.

Thanks for the response. I'd read through that and wanted some additional clarification. So you would suggest I spend all the $250k I started with on VIP seats, or should I save a bit to cover wages and other non-player purchases?

Don't spend all your money at once! Check your schedule to see when you have home/away games. It takes fourteen days to complete construction so if you have to away games that is the best time to build. Look at your economy page and see how much money your team spent last week in all. That is how much you need every week to pay to keep your team. Make sure you have at least that every week. After you finish construction you will pay more per week due to maintenance so don't forget that either!

I wouldn't hold any money back at all. You have to be in th hole by over $400k for over two weeks in order to run into financial problems. Invest every dime in the high value seats and schedule some friendlies. You don't need to hold money back in the beginning.

Your wages shouldn't be that big a factor until the first real income comes in.
But ....
- look at your roster cut all players over 30. They don't get any training at with a new team there shouldn't be any real good player in this group. -> save money.
- select a sponsor. Take the one with the biggest win bones, not the one with the biggest weekly payment. -> win the bot games and get more money through this!
- make friendly games, prefered with team with 13500 (most likley to have max VIP+max EXEC) seats. -> This income alone should cover your expenses.
