How important is talent in positions other than QB?

A 2* talent guy can be a good DL or WR or whatever?

The rule of thumb is for most managers, everything worse than 3,5* Talent is not a good choice.

Remember, that a 3,5* Talent will have 4,5* BPOS maximum.
A 2,5* and 3* Talent will have 4* BPOS
a 1,5* and your 2* Talent will have 3,5* BPOS.

That's a big difference.

A the moment there are some positions which are not that importent, like the G, KR, K, P, inner DL and maybe inner OL, but I would only take for that minimum 2,5* Players.

But everyone can have his own opinion about that.

EDIT: Soory for the dumb spelling error. Last edited on 2011-03-31 at 7:35

note also a 2* for newer teams isnt such a bad thing until they find the players they want especially if the player has good physicals and stuff.

Yes I agree that you could use lower talent guys for the period where you train physicals, but those guys would have to have BPOS, else 2* is just a waste of time, training and wages.. I kept a couple of guys with 3* talent because they had BPOS when I started rebuilding.. Sold two off last week, and got two left on the team..

Too easy to get better 3,5* talent for little to no money..

agreed but when u start the game u dont think like that even if u have read all the forums. still need a team to start with. i still have low talent players on my squad as they performed well at lower divs and perform as backups, but are now at the stage where they dont hold up to competition in other teams.

Well I did

Ive been looking in to performance a bit, and already at my stage I can see a noticable drop from 4 to 4,5* BPOS, so I see no point in advising people to keep them for a second longer than they have replacements with similiar/little lower skills.. Which brings me back to my point from before - they need BPOS full, no point in keeping 2* guys you just got when you can go spend 4k and have a player with 3,5+ (even 5) today that performs better and has the potential to last for many years..

I just wanted to mention that I found a 4.5* 16 year old on the waivers yesterday who had been released. Uncapped. If you haven't experienced the rush of happening across a 4.5* talent like that, you need to.

obviously you're going to want high talent players, they're always going to be the best.

but certainly don't ignore the low level guys at the start, i still use some guys around the 2*-2.5* mark and they're still pretty good

Bradford Kesler
Reece Stokes
John Faulkner
Cody Tyler
