I've not played my first game yet, but personally I do not like the idea have having to start so low down when there are so many bots around in the higher leagues.

I've started in the relegation zone of V.75, so if I can avoid relegation I'll have just 111 leagues to climb to get to the top. Think that will just take me 39 years if I were to get promotion each year.

You don't go one division at a time, you jump to another division. I used to think it was one at a time, but then I went from Div III.5 to Div II.2 after winning my league. So you wont be waiting 39 years to reach the top, unless you have some really bad luck!

Season 2 will now be with 7/10 teams as bot teams.

Just to update you... After week 10 I am the last human in this league. The last guy to drop out got promotion from his league, so he must have been fairly keen.

Seems to be alot of people who start teams and then drop out through the season. In the league I am in it started with 8 bot teams went down to 2 bot teams and now it is back at 3 bot teams. However I am not complaining I now have 3 bot teams in my last 5 games

Ramraider I understand you because I do the same thing happened. I started my league with 6 or 8 bots, and I prefered friendly cups that play my league. However, it's better for you because on the next league, probably you'll play with more people.
For example, next week I'll win my league although I should play 4 more matches.

People don't seem to realise how fast promotion is.

I disagree, since officially only one team is promoted. Now I wasn't around in the last off season, so I don't know if the administrators moved more teams up to support the higher divisions with more people.

I did a few number crunches yesterday on our area to find out how many people were playing and how many were bots.

Top Division: 40 % players
2nd Division: 30 % players
3rd Division: 28 % players
4th Division: 25 % players
5th Division: 47 % players

So being promoted from 4th to 3rd is the easiest, then it is 3rd to 2nd, and then it is 2nd to Top. The 5th to 4th division is by far the most difficult to get promoted from and right now two of the spots are taken by bots, since there are two leagues with zero human players. So right now it 79 players (81 seats - 2 bots) out of 378 players getting promoted to 4th division, which is 21 % of the players. I am not saying it is bad rate, but it is still only around one fifth of the players playing in 5th division, so the battle is tough. Remember that if we were filled with players then it would only be 10 % of the player base getting promotions.

And it is also impossible to move everybody up, since there are enough players to fill up the entire four highest divisions and still have enough to fill some spots in 5th division. So this can't be done in a fair way.

On the plus side then it doesn't matter much, since the amount of money you make from ticket sales are still maxed out for the time being unless you have an enormous stadium (35.000+). Right now I am in fourth place in a 5th division league and the minimum attendance I can get is 38.160 multiplied by my form and weather. So with my current stadium closing in on 2.000 seats then it will be ages before this will become a problem.

Ticket income may not be a problem, but prize money at the end of the season will be.

I started in 11th place in my league. So far, I have won all 6 of my matches, yet I am still down in 4th and have no chance of promotion this season. If I finish in 3rd I will receive $ 296,000 in prize money. Yet a bot team that finishes 9th in the Top Division will net $ 300,000.

It is incredibly frustrating looking up the leagues and seeing all of the bot teams who sit in the top leagues, meanwhile there are active managers who are fighting for 1 promotion place for their league.

I will be stuck in the 5th division for at least 1 more season, and probably more if other teams join my league. And yet there are still managerless, bot teams sitting in leagues further up than me.

It's wouldn't be so bad if there were less bot teams, but there are so many! It's demoralising, and I would imagine it causes a lot of people to leave the game.

Sorry, my mistake, I'm used to playing games where the leagues have 12 teams.

I started in 9th.

I now have three bot teams to play. If I win this week I will win my league
