Ladies and gentlemen, this is a person who needs no introduction.....

[09:54] Mercutioh:: and without further ado
[09:54] Guru: Go for it buddy
[09:54] Mercutioh:: First off I'd like to thank you for your time, I appreciate you giving me the chance to grill you a bit
[09:56] Guru: Welcome to my wonderful life, Matt. Hang on, I'm just watching the bit where Revs scores a Touchdown in Remember the Titans!
[09:56] Mercutioh:: GO REV...I mean focus, man we've got readers out there expecting valuable info.
[09:57] Guru: Go Rev, indeed. Sunshine, what a blocker. Who would of thought? Okay, go ahead pal. Afterall, I am a Moderator - People think everything I say is correct****
[09:57] Mercutioh:: So what's the secret to the Flowbee football machine?
[10:01] Guru: The meaning of Flowbee is "The Zone". It's a word that you could use when you are participating in something at the highest level, but with no negative affects. To me, it means something more special. It reminds me of my grandad, who passed away. But anyway, back on track.

The Flowbee Football Machine? Well, I enjoy throwing the football - Afterall, I was a Wide Receiver in my first year at University. Running the ball is simple and effective, yes, but it bores me senseless. Sure, I play this game seriously, but you need some elements of fun. So by prefering to pass the ball, you take a few more risks. Which is what describes my life to some extent! You have to show some of your personality not just on the forums, but on the way you set your tactics and how your team performs.
Saying that, I have two of the best Running Backs in the GI-World. I'd like to think so anyway. Yet, my Offensive Line sucks and needs upgrading! Anyway, life story, I am still trying to find a formation that works best for me. I'm not affraid to try this in either league of friendly matches
[ Sorry, went on a bit of a rant then
[10:06] Mercutioh:: Rants work well for me less questions to have to come up with
[10:07] Guru: :]
[10:07] Mercutioh:: So you stated you want to pass the ball as your primary focus, Are you looking at exploiting some 4 reciever sets?
[10:10] Guru: Well, I am yet to use this formation - I have yet to use 3 Receivers, let alone 4. Mainly because I only have two decent Wide Receivers. Also, I am aware of my weaknesses, so lately I tend to use two Tight-Ends to counter my lack of Offensive Line. Ofcourse, this enables me to have more people that are eligable to catch the ball, too. I guess you could say that I am not a User who force buys I only buy a player who I like and will be of value for my team in upcoming seasons, not just for the next game to try out a formation. Anyway, I would be more than willing to use some 4 Sets in the upcoming weeks, if the players are available. I would likely lose, but I like the look of my Quarterbacks lately (Y)
[10:14] Mercutioh:: They've played well to be sure. Kovanen in particular dropped 347 yards on an impressive Infamous Leopards team whom you have spoken highly of. What managers in the game do you respect the most?
[10:17] Guru: Indeed, Kovanen is my backup Quarterback. I guess that shows the depth of my passing game of late! Anyway, he was a project that I bought a while ago - I have only decided to play him recently! What Managers in the game do I respect the most? Good question. i guess I take a different approach to this question than most of the other users in the Grid-Iron World. Infact, this is a very good question
[10:17] Guru: "carrying on...."
[10:18] Mercutioh:: *cough* quit stalling *cough*
[10:18] Guru: Its quite tough when put on the spot. Also i am quite literate, so I want it to make sense ;0
[10:19] Mercutioh:: Bah that's never stopped me.
[10:24] Guru: I value a coach by their personality, not by their record. I guess this is because I spend alot of time on the forums, listening to what people have to say and how they come across as a person. A few people have sent me a few messages, thanking me for the work on the Forums and how I go about my day etc, which I thank and admire because it shows a lot about that person. Also, I recall Buliwyf said to me a while ago "Never forget your real life problems come first. Don't feel sorry for not updating the FAQ or Forum in time. The other stuff is way more important". Which is absolutely true! And of course, he is doing very well, too. Anyway, I can understand why users would respect Coaches based on their record, but there are just too many factors that allow a person to win on Grid-Iron.
In theory, anyone can win. Of course - I cant believe I am saying this as I always refer this game to not being Real Life - this is the same in Real Life. I guess what I am trying to say is that we are unaware of alot of things that are currently taking place in the Game Engine, so if a User who had a 0-11 record set his/her formation against a User who had a 11-0 record, the first User could still win. Unlikely, but it is possible. Which is why I don't consider Record to have a big influence on my respect towards other Coaches. Of course, many Coaches do not speak on the forums! But if I had to name some Coaches, I have a lot of respect for yourself, Kyoshuke and Squish. There are many more, but those are the ones that stand out to me right now, probably because they are quite active on the forums.
DONE!
lol
[10:35] Mercutioh:: So as a Mod you seem to be pretty knowledgable, do you get any extra information than the regular users? ( self serving question )
[10:38] Guru: I do not get any extra information than the regular User (I haven't been paid a couple of £'s to say that by the way ). I guess you could say that I am very wise for my age, and that the head above these shoulders is alot more older and sensible than it should be! Ofcourse, I read everything on the forums, too. Admittedly, I have come across as an idiot and a terrible Moderator sometimes.Yet, this is due to my strong personality. So I apologies to the few people which have been on the end of some of my remarks in the past! Had to get that in there, sorry if it is irrelevant! Anyway.....No extra information. Although, sometimes I do get things wrong, which is why you see the Admins follow up some of my posts sometimes. I guess I am only human
[10:40] Mercutioh:: Kinda like me and *cough* math and rating *cough*
[10:40] Guru: ;]
Could be the longest interview yet !
[10:42] Mercutioh:: Lastly What of the new suggestions are you most looking forward to seeing implemented
[10:45] Guru: Well, I am trying to stay away from the Suggestions Thread lately. I think some people feel as if they have to suggest something, even if it is completely unneccessary and petty. I'm going to answer your question from the "Appproved Suggestions" thread, so I apologies to the others in advance (Although, I do like the Team Voting suggested by ShaftDiggity recently). I guess I like the statistics Suggestions such as "Completion %" and "Yards per Completion". I also like the "Varied Passing Options" because that would add another element to the game, which the User could use to express their tactics in a complex manner. However, I also like the suggestion towards Special Teams - That's a huge element of the Real Life game, which is not present in the current GI Engine. Oh and the ads section too, as this would make my job easier

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Guru for his time. I've left the timestamps up to let you know this is the real man and his real answers. Hands down my best interview yet

Great read.

I'll have to remember that if I face Guru I'll need a strong pass rush and great DB's to stop his passing game.
I'll have to add to the suggestions thread to add the option on defense for the 3-4 zone blitz that the Steelers use so my linebackers can pressure and sack your qb.

luckily for you you don't have to. if you've kept up on the little hints that the admins dropped teams by default play zone defense. not sure how blitzing is calculated but you're halfway home!
