In my tactics I have it set to kick field goals when the ball is inside the 40 yd line. Does that mean I will kick field goals of only 40 yds or less or the ball is on the 40?

I'm asking because my kicker hasn't kicked a field goal of more than 38 yds for quite some time so I'm a little confused.

I think it is including the 40 yard line, but I could be mistaken, since my distance have been 45 yard because of my punting distance

It means a 40 yard attempt, so that would probably mean kicking from anywhere inside the opposition's 25 or so

23 yard line and in, but that is not the question here. The question is if the 40 yard attempt is part of the "inside 40 yard" orders.

My Kicker made only one 40y FG but never a 41y FG

For some weird reason they decided that a 40 yard fg is automatic but anything beyond is difficult to make.

not entirely true.
My cup opponent missed one from 35 yards today. and that team doesn't just have any kicker. they have one of the best.
