How does the match engine determine who will be the main running back (the one that will carry the ball)? I had a 3 back set and one of my FBs, who was supposed to block, ended up running backwards alot.

I believe that if you prefer a designated side, and the fullback is on that given side, he will see alot more of the ball than he usually would.

Was this the case?

I look forward to hearing from you,

Guru.

You are correct. The FB on the favored side was the ball hog and took 70% of the carries.

I think it is becasue the Fullback is closer to that side and therefore, will make more ground.

Obviously, this is not always the case.

The only thing I've heard regarding this problem is that if you play an FB in the center of the formation, he will get much fewer carries.

I wouldn't really know though since I don't play an FB.

In general, you wouldn't want your fullback to get many carries, right? Fullback is mostly for block, Halfback mostly for running.

just remember that this isn't steve spurrier/mike martz 850 page playbook type football and you end up a lot happier. I myself like to think that I know what the heck I am doing when running an offense but realistically we are just setting a pattern here. After that it's up to the little digital guys.

Generally, yes the fullback is more for blocking and the halfback is more for running. But it all depends on the kind of running game too. If it's more of a power running game, then the fullback will get his share of carries.

Me personally, if I put someone on the field and he's not on the O-line or on defense, he's going to get the ball from time to time. I don't have to worry about the FB on here because I've been playing a 2 HB set lately, but my TE's can and do get involved in the offense. They aren't as big of a part as the HB or the WR's, but it's a nice change of pace and can catch the defense off guard from time to time.
