Whats a dude gotta do to get a win? I am in my first season in oceania TD. But have not got a single win. Have either lost games my 6 or less points or got smashed by 21 points. I understand that I wasn;t gonna get many wins.

In my last 2 games I've given up 6 TDs of over 55yards or more. Missed tackles.

So my question is - What is a good level to get my defensive players tackling skill up to for this level of play? 13? 16? Other?

And are their position that I should have higher than others? ie- Linebackers and safeties seem to factor into alot of pass plays.

On passing plays the first 'tackler' is a CB or a LB
and the second tackler a SF or a LB. My surmise based on the qn A with admin thread is that they all need the same skills to defend the pass.

Mine is about 15, but I also focus on secondary skills and think physical skills are also very important.

all my def are between 12-15 depending on which position they are playing, i was concentrating on secondaries last season but went back to increasing my primaries because i was struggling. hope to have all Def around 15 mark at end of season.

If its financially viable I c no real reason to bother about secondaries before maxing out primaries since the players train at the same speed no matter at what level their current skill is. Ideally you would want to make it more difficult to over train a skill by making the training speed roughly inversely proportional to the skill level

hmmm..prob disagree with this
for a newer team i'd recommend against training the primaries up too high
i think for a mid level team having a collection of well rounded players gives you a very strong but not too expensive team.

eg. having player with a skill of about 10 in all the skills you'd want for them will be very useful indeed for a fraciton of the cost.

i'd only recommend taking your QB, WR and TEs up to highish skills early on. you'll get the biggest visible increase in performance for these skills over others.
with the rest of your team balancing out, you can then increase the other primaries once you're very financially stable.

It will not be financially viable for new teams to pay the salaries for players with overtrained primary skills .....So yup new managers listen to what stoo said
