endzone is factored in. using your example with the line os scrimmage at your opponents 16 yard line you add on 10 yards for the endzone and 7 yards for the long snap making it a 33 yard attempt so you need to set it to at least kick from 35yards or less and generally i would advise 40 yarders to avoid touch backs and the field position lost is minimal if you miss the FG. hope this helps

so your punters shortest possible punt is from 25 yards from the endzone, does that not result in a touchback? even a missed FG a 40 leaves them starting their drive from their 23 yard line, il take a shot at 3 points from that range with any kicker personally for that small a loss in field position. but each to their own and all
