1 Tazdevils [Australia] 10-0 400-63 ii.3

The devils do their dirty work quick behind the laser arm of Sean Siegert. He has guided this offset I formation to an undefeated record. He has the luxury of a premier center in 19 year old Daniel Everitt. Even when that arm gets tired, Siegert can feel comfortable handing the ball off to either of his two backs. It's a potent offensive machine that is built to score and score in bunches.

2 Baltimore Stampede [Australia] 9 1 0.900 201 24 ii.2

Baltimore is a stark contrast to the high flying Tazdevils. They figure that you don't need to tire yoursefl out scoring all those points when you can just hang on the ball and grind things out. 18 year old Taylor Garner and 19 year old Michael Saborio anchor a solid defensive interior line tallying 66 tackles between the two of them.

3 Minang [Indonesia] 9 1 0.900 229 102 iii.6

Team owner Malindo has orchestrated a quality season as Minang can win big and they can win when things get ugly. They run an interesting power back formation with twin fullbacks smashing into the defenses until they wear down. How long this setup can last in the cup will be seen in weeks to come as Minang picks up a bot team and an almost assured advancement to the next round.

4 Clumsydogs [Australia] 8 2 0.800 300 56 ii.1

Half back Connor Griffin is the lone constant for the clumsy dogs with 1721 yards rushing. The Dogs are still finding an identy with several positional switches and acquisitions making this a big unknown factor. One thing is for sure though. YOu never know what the Dogs are going to throw at you.

5 Shaky Islanders [New Zealand] 8 2 0.800 249 112 iii.7

The Islanders are an up and coming Oceanic Squad. They play consistent football and rarely find themselves in trouble with their opponents. THey face their biggest test against the defensive powerhouse Baltimore Stampede in the cup match. This will be the game that decides what kind of team the Islanders really are.

To help Merc out, I am going to start doing the Oceanic region on a hopefully weekly basis. I'm hoping to get the first ones up tomorrow.

1 Tazdevils 12-0 473-77 ii.3

This team just wins. They have a balanced offense that can beat you both through the air and on the ground. Leading the attack is running backs Jaxson Neitz and Patrick Griffin, who have combined for 2906 yards and 29 TDs. If you're lucky to stop the run, they also a strong passing game led by QB Sean Siegert(1804 yards, 24 TD) and his favorite target WR Brian Boak(30 catches, 1082, 15 TD). It will take a great defense to stop this team.

On defense they run a 4-3 led by DL Leslie McDonald and LB Antoni Tymms who have combined for 103 tackles. Also helping the team's cause is kicker Wilfrid Tuck, who is a perfect 6-6 in FG attempts.

2 Baltimore Stampede 11-1 235-24 ii.2

This team proves that you don't need a high powered offense to win on GridIron. They do have a great running back in Glenn Hurley(1838 yards, 17 TDs). And when they decide to pass, they spread the ball around, with 3 receivers with 2 TD catches.

On defense, they run a 4-3 with 3 middle linebackers. This defense has been one of the strongest in the whole game, only giving up 24 points in 12 games, and is anchored by the three linebackers, who have combined for 136 tackles and 2 interceptions.

3 Fernee's 49ers 11-1 324-49 Top Division

I decided to include teams that aren't in the Cup anymore, and that's why this team made the list. Running an offense featuring a single fullback and 2 TEs, this is another balanced attack that could give many teams trouble. It starts with the passing game with QB Harrison Hargrove(1816 yards, 26 TD) and his favorite target TE Charlie Munn(21 catches, 901 yards, 14 TD). There are also 4 other receivers with a touchdown catch. When they run the ball, most of the time it goes to Stuart Frost, who has run for 1705 yards and 18 TDs out of the fullback position this year.

They play a 5-3 defense, which leaves them a little sucesptible to the passing game, and was probably what knocked them out the Cup. There are no standouts on the defense, but they've only given up 49 points on the year, so they've obviously come together and played well as a unit.

4 Razorbacks 11-1 465-35 Top Division

This is another team that is no longer in the Cup. While they have a better scoring margin than the team they are tied with in their division, I gave the edge to the 49ers based on head to head results from earlier in the season. This week will decide the division championship most likely, as the two teams play again.

This looks like it could be a team in transition. For most of the year they've played a basic offense, but last game they ran a 3 wide, single fullback offense. They've used 2 QBs on the year, and these passers have combined for 1514 yards and 21 TD. Both being 18 and under, this team has a decision to make going forward about who is going to lead the offense in the years to come. Carrying the offense for most of the year has been running back Grant Ward. The 17 year old has run for 2384 yards and 32 TDs. The main receivers are WR Ben Bootsma(20 catches, 649 yards, 9 TD) and TE Bernie Fabinyi(23 catches, 1004 yards, 12 TD).

On defense, they run a 3-4, and it all starts up front. DLs Will Mayne and Norman DeLuca have combined for 120 tackles and look to shut down any running game that come their way.

5 Minang 10-2 299-102 iii.6

This is a hard team to figure out. They've been playing players all over the place for the year, so there is no standouts on either side of the ball. What I can tell is the formations they've used, and it's unlike anything in the Oceanic region. On offense, they've run an unorthodox 2 FB, 2 TE, 2 wide offense using only 4 OL(a C, 2 T, and a G). While you'd think the lack of a 2nd guard would help the defensive line when trying to stop the offense, it hasn't appeared to be the case, as they have still scored almost 300 points. On defense, they run a 4-2-5, which should be great for shutting down the opponent's passing game. I'll be interested in following this team the rest of the year, as I'm not real sure how they've gotten to where they are, but they're still in the Cup. So obviously whatever they're using is working. Last edited on 2008-11-09 at 21:41

I decided to not really use any certain rules when ranking the teams. I mostly found the teams with the best records and ranked them based on that, with Cup standing and point differential as tiebreakers. There was also an 11-1 division leader in iii.5, but they're a bot so I decided not to include them.

3 of the 5 are still in Cup and all 5 are either leading or tied for the lead in their division. And in my personal opinion, it's going to hard to stop Tazdevils. I'd have to call them the favorite to win the Cup in this region.

I wouldn't say no chance. There's always a chance, espcially this early in the game. You did beat Minang who I ranked 5th, and there's been games that appear to be upsets all over recently.

I think and still do think that the Devils end up winning the Cup because they look real strong. But after checking out your team closer, it looks like yours is very good too. I'm sure you'll at least hang close and could possibly prove me wrong.

Cheers, i hope so. I started with a team that had lost the first 3 games in my league so i've tried to claw my way top but am still 1 game off....

I also beat my mates team Razorbacks in a friendly which we both play full line-ups.

*crosses fingers.
