Offseason you miss one Saturday league match.

Its not entirely 2 weeks but more than 1 week

Sat - Game
Mon - Fri
Sat - No Game
Mon - Fri
Sat - Game

and yes your players will get a year older during each off season

Offseason actually last 12 days, from Monday the first week to Friday of the second week and includes only one weekend without league matches.

In my opinion it is just cosmetics. To me the offseason means that a season is 19 weeks long with 18 games, then it might be 12 days between the last match of one season and the first match of the next season.

To make it even more fun, then the so called "offseason" is actually made up of two different things, the preseason and the offseason. The change between the two happens when the seasons change.
