I rarely post on this forum but I feel compelled to as part of the NFLUK mob

In many ways we have the best deal in this country because as many have said, whoever gets voted in will be more than qualified and well supported by the rest of the managers.

Now, no offence to the others involved but I think most will agree that Stoo is the favourite to get the job, and why not? His trophy collection speaks for itself. So I'll start by saying I'm NOT criticising anyone.

Stoo has a larger stadium and a significant amount of foriegn imports, some of which are quite pricey players. Sy's stadium isn't massive and nor is the squad - It also only includes a few foriegn imports which, imvho, suggests that Sy (intentionally or unintentionally) may be better suited to working with restrictions - a skill that I imagine will be very handy in an NT coach.

I know thats a very nit-picky point to make but christ, we've got to seperate them somehow lol!

it's an interesting point, but one could possibly argue that those restrictions are self imposed.
sy has been here pretty much from the start, as such has had as long a window as anyone to build up the stadium to get the cash to buy the best players in order to build as strong a team as possible.

if it was a question of you have a wage cap, and can only have a max total wage of 300k then i'd possibly agree with you then the criteria for picking the NT coach changes, but without this, as it is, surely then the choice should be who can pick the best team from the vastly greater talent pool?

Now there is a place where GI could move forward, i have not(like Syborg) got the biggest of stadium but him, me & some of the MEGA stadium teams can still only get the same ammount of sponsorship as a team just starting out with only 1000 fans. Surely if you have a bigger stadium there is more space for sponsorship (Brighton - Man Utd, same amount of sponsors, Er NO).

Yes I know that the bigger teams will get richer & therefore be able to have more, better players but at the same time how many of the teams with only 1000 - 10000 seat stadiums will have to do as I did at the start of the season & sell 30+ players just to keep the wage bill down

Yup, I completely agree, but self imposed or not (I tried to touch on that somewhere), he's still done it. But yes, if you take in my argument then I suppose that scouting in that sense could deffinately be a point in your favour.

Like I said, it's going to be close and maybe in the end little things like that are the difference. Should be interesting.

Nevertheless, in the spirit of the thread:
VOTE SY

What happens if 6 weeks into being NT coach you find that its not very exciting or interesting either and then decide to leave anyway?

What happens if 6 days in I get run over by a truck. . hmmm.. same difference I reckon. .

You would be looking for a new HC.

It may be that IF and it is an IF. . I get the role, I may find I am not suited to it, it could happen to anyone. .??

On the other hand I may rock at it who can tell??
I dont know everything about the game and I am always learning, I am not to big to be led as well as to lead. .

Anyone know the saying,

'If your to big to be led your too little to lead'. . well I dont fall into that catagory.

The best leaders surround themselves with great advisors.

Getting run over by a truck and quitting the game voluntarily are 2 completely separate and incomparable events. It's not about being suited to the position or even being good at it. Nobody really knows whats involved in being NT coach but all I was questioning was your statement about quitting the game earlier today so that we don't waste votes and time to elect someone who will easily walk away from it.

I had my concerns about Sy and his quote. so here i will defend him even though i never voted for you Sy, sorry bud.

As much as his note about the possibility of leaving worried me its not a huge concern and something that needs to be taken into account for any manager.

yes he could leave, but anyone could from any circumstance and he was honest about it which gets a . any manager could easily go bankrupt so placing votes on that safe bet of Stoo or anyone else is an uknown.

Sy also has a good a chance as anyone else to lead the team good, bad or down right dire. it will be the help and support the NTC gets which will be the difference in the teams.

finally i dont think the fact that Stoo having a massive stadium and financially secure, but Sy manages his team within the parameters given to him makes a difference. hell even i have a bigger stadium than Sy and manage my players to a limit per season, doesnt mean i should be in the running for the position.

95% of it will be about finding players with stats and positioning them.

enjoy a bit of banter but we are still all UK and no need to crush anyone trying to challenge for the spot.

all i want is for the team to decimate the YANKS.
