How much money should I be spending on new players as a new manager? I don't want to over spend or buy rubbish. How do I decide how much a player is worth?

This ist just my personal feeling, but you should not buy new players until you got your arena build with VIP/exec.

True, but does anyone ever do that? To me it was too boring, but its all about finding a balance I guess...

My advice would be to buy players between 16-19 years old, and either high intel/physicals(MLB, SF) or just high physicals and go for below 10k, and only keep players with 3,5* talent unless you have really good reason to keep them... In order to get the good deals, go for low cons as the rich teams wont like those (to me it really doesnt matter anyways, so its all good )

initially i would settle for 2.5* talent with good(6/7) primary skills to tide you over til you can get 3.5* talents all round but i agree with the not spending over 10k for a player and no more than 3 per week IMO

With patience, you can get a squad full of 3.5 to 4 star talent players and pay no more than 3K per player. On the transfer market, only bid on players that are listed for $1000. Focus on decent Int and/or Con, (15 or higher). You won't be able to get a player that has decent numbers in both for that price though. Also, these players will likely have very low physicals (spd and str) and will take some time to train up. Fire any of these players you buy that have less than 3.5 talent. Some may try to re-sell, but if you were able to buy them for $1000, then you likely won't be able to sell him for more than that. Since it costs $2500 to place the player on the market, re-selling would be like throwing away money.
With this, you could have 20-30 3.5+ star players in just a couple of months, maybe sooner. When I decided to bring in an influx of higher talented players, it took me roughly a season to get up to 50-60 players, though I already had 10 or so on my roster when I started the quest.

However, I do very highly recommend that you upgrade VIP seats as often as you can until you max them out.

I think I pretty much did...maybe a couple of exceptions...but I have a pretty high boredom threshold. Now let me see if that paint's dry yet...

Sometimes you can get pretty lucky on the transfer market. I just bought a 17-year old 4* talent with 19 INT, 14 TW and 13 Con and with no capped skills for around 30,000. If you do your due diligence on these players you can really make som good deals and get your team on position to win pretty fast.

sometimes buying players isnt a bad thing until u get your team settled in the positions u want. there are plenty of bargains on the market and usually some very cheap older players with reasonable stats to bolster your team for a season or two. if you look at the market and want to buy key positions would be the place to fill until your own team establish better stats and you can work on filling your stadium.

watch the wages on them and dont buy too many.

remember its sometimes better to not use your scout on aplayer.
