I think your train of thought is correct. If your opponent has not logged in since prior to the last cup match, there is no way he could have set his line up to face you. The problem is, you will have to monitor this right up until one hour before the match to be sure. This may leave you little to no time to make adjustments. It's the cup and it's one and done, so I would suggest going with your solid line up and worry about the back ups in league bot games or friendlies

I believe that if he has set a default lineup, that lineup will be used, even if he doesn't officially set his lineup. If the default is illegal, then you'll face the bot lineup.

I only thought this because whhen i didn't have a supporter account, i used that button to set it up when i went to set my orders. I didn't realise you could just not show up to set your orders and it worked lol.
