Whats the consensus on P and V ? Who needs P and/or V
I kinda remember someone suggesting P was a Def skill and V an Off skill
So would the O line and TE need P? and the Pass rushers V ?
(Or is the game actually more similar to RL than I made it out to be?)

I think they are both mildly important for every position, just makes sense. Does it make a huge difference? Hard to say, but I'm gonna train em both up for every position, as I think it will make a mild, but important, difference when I'm further along in training

I would just like to know what skills actually mean, since the admin stated Vision important for a running back unless you plan to use him in a different position. That doesn't make any sense to me, so I am a bit lost on what they actually mean those skills.

Earlier in game I got the answer "the players view and the field and how the gameplay will develop", this was the answer to and translation issue.

IMO it is:
QB/RB/WR/TE: see holes in the defense
OL: see possible attacks of the defense
Defenders: see how the offense is going to make yards

If this is true Vision is the most underdeveloped skill in GI IMO

But this is only a worse translation and a guess of course.

And if this is true positioning would be the counterpart of vision, which makes completely sense from a mathematical view, and the engine is all about math - if you like it or not.

But they also stated that Vision is not a primary skill for the running back and should be trained if you plan to use the player in another position. So here we have a conflict of two announcements from the admins and it would be really nice if they cared to enlighten us a bit on these two specific skills, as the admins thoughts seems to differ from the general American football perception of the words.

Another skill the bugs me a bit is Footwork, but not as much the two previous mentioned.

Agreed for the vision and their double- or tripple meaning. Confusing

For the footwork:

http://www.grid-iron.org/index.php?page=community&subpage=viewt&t=3511

I asked: Footwork: is it "how good can I use my feet to stay stable" (like in Offense line) or ist it more "I can run the exact route that was given to me" (example is a widereceiver)

They answered: Footwork is how good (and fast) a player can move/use his feet and still be stable. This can be used by the offensive lineman as well as by the other players (by backs for example).
The "route" example isn't a good one

Yup, but wahat about all those experts in the real life that talk about how important footwork is for quarterback? Grid-Iron is very confusing with their naming of skills and lack of description, but that is a completely different discussion!
