Completion percentage would also be an important stat to track. As would yards per completion as opposed to or in addition to yards per attempt. This shows how deep an offense is throwing.

great suggestion, also in this vein something we should look at is passing depth as opposed to attack side. long passes are more difficult but have a bigger payoff when they work. short passes work more often but sometimes don't get the job done etc.
